Stock 80 series Steelies in Chrome would look good. It would be sort of an almost factory 62 look. And it would match the bumpers. Of the choices, I like the stock 80 aluminum wheels best. Plus they weren't made in China. Some of even the new TRD wheels are Chinese. Sorry but my experience with their metallurgy is that is sucks and a wheel is a pretty important thing.

Kinda Stock Wheels

May be a little light for the macho set, but 7.5x17" Tundra twin-spokes are kind of sweet. Can fit BFG 285/70R17 KM2 - the Michelins shown are my road tires. Also, the truck has a 1" body lift, so they don't fill the wheelwells as much as they could.

Of those choices, i like the stock 80 wheels the best.
I do think the LX450 wheels look a tad bit better. I am still kicking myself for letting mine go.
An LX 450 wheel beadlocked would be pretty sweet IMHO.

but I prefer no chrome or bling on my wheels. Gray to black is my favs....I am also a big fan of powder coating wheels silver vein. Only if you don't plan to do tons of wheeling though, powder coated wheels scratch badly off-road. I am sure whatever you come up with will be sweet though!

I'll vote for chromed 80-series steelies. I think that would look awesome! Close enough to the stock 62 wheels to throw people for a loop and will look amazing.

A friend of mine had champion headlock some 80 wheels like you have... they are costly. you could get a race line deadlocked wheel cheaper.
Although they look great, I was thinking it would be cheaper than an aftermarket wheel since you would be supplying the wheel.. guess not.

15 inch 60 wheels will not clear the 80 calipers. I don't know the origin of the 16s in your link.


Gary is right about the weight of the 80 16 x 8 steel wheel. Those things weigh almost 44 lbs dry.

My worn 305/70/16 Dunlop Mud Rovers on my steel wheels weigh 94 lbs each. My brand new 315/75/16 Mickey Thompson MTZs on factory alloys weigh 86 lbs each.
