Allegedly, it can be neither confirmed nor denied that Onur has the right attire...

Whatever it takes! But is @OGBeno ready for that much comfort? It might ruin him
Can you imagine going from left and right foot "crawl control" to using no feet at all? 🤯

Will require more sushi to ease him back to reality!

Fair point!

I don't think I have the balls to cut my rig in half :) :)

So I'm not sure you'd make it in the actual "pig" of the land cruiser family...but you'd enjoy the process comfort!

So at this point and the last couple progress posts we're going to lump into phase 3 which will be called The Clean Up. Just miscellaneous odds and ends that are 26 years old and are time for a refresh. Plastics, hoses stuff like that. We will be coming back to Phase 2 Boy That Escalated Quickly as soon as we get the call from our Cerakote guy, cmon cerakote guy!!!

New washer reservoir

New throttle cable, gotta have smooth operation for that turbo

New Fuel Lines. These were crispy!

Fender harness going to the alternator is pretty crispy as well. I stripped it all back and it has the typical 80 almost melted down alternator chargeback wire. That will get cut out and beefed up.

Probably about a year out. PM if you would like to discuss. Thanks!

So the REAL question is....should I book this spot a year from now? Will I still own this rig at that time?

Feels like the over / under these days is about 9 months :)

Lob in your vote...I realize my reputation proceeds me but this is a really cool and rare build!

Do it, Brett. You won't be disappointed by Kelly's excellent work.

Oh for sure, I completely trust his work and want to find a project to work with him on!

The problem is his lead time is longer than my average length of ownership...its a terrible habit.

Maybe I commit to this one tho!

@shellb Hear me out... Have lots of fun with it this summer, get out, wheel it a bit, enjoy it, fall expedition somewhere with the band and then get it painted after using it a bit. It is a sweet poverty pack 80 and is definitely a rare truck and it's clean. As an 80 connoisseur I am extremely jealous of this thing!

Rosie Ruby is definitely starting to come to life at this point. We're still a ways off but I can feel the energy building.

@shellb delivered some White Knuckle Offroad Sliders last week and they went on today. Personally, I am a huge fan of the WKOR sliders and have them on my 80 which has been beat over and over without giving an inch. 10/10 would recommend.

And she got some new shoes (315/75r16 Cooper STT Pros) with some factory 80 series wheels that @shellb refreshed with brand new center caps! She's a beaut!

Then to end the week UPS delivered some friends to hang out with Rosie! Still many more on the way...

FALL #EAF. Brett is on the team. Maybe I’ll have a 70 running by then.

I have a real issue with commitment, but as long as it’s not in September I’m fairly solid!

And worst case if not me, my rig! 🤣🤣

Great thread! I just got all caught up and looking forward to more content!

@shellb i have to say I’m also jealous of this build. I hope it stays 3H4…one of my favorite colors on an 80 😉.

I’m thinking about making a trip up to see Johnny @Cruisers and Co and talk about some mods and refresh stuff for my 80. I’d also like to see if my 1FZ is healthy enough to handle some boost.

I was really glad to see a shout out for Sabaku Sushi! I try to stop there anytime I’m in town. Probably some of the best sushi I’ve had.

Brett, let me know (Johnny Utah Rising Sun) the next time you’re heading over to the shop, I’d love to see you and your rig and visit with Johnny.

Thanks Scott! You're welcome to come by anytime, I'd be happy to help with and discuss whatever you and your 80 need/want. just ask anyone that may stop by shoot us a text/call to make sure we're there! Would hate for someone to go out of their way to find the shop closed.

Cheers 🍻

@kelly saad and I debating color swap 🤯 let's see what happens!

sorry @BuckarooBanzai ... it is a cool color but opportunity to change might be too much to pass up.

Scott, let's for sure get together and meet up at @Cruisers and Co heck maybe we bring in some BBQ and have some beers too. Johnny open house??

As soon as the weather gets nice absolutely! Maybe a few Fridays from now?

@shellb I get it man. My favorite Toyota color is quicksand. If I ever paint the 80, that’d be at the top of my list.

Honestly, I guess I like the red ones because they’re not too common. My 3h4 is in really good condition so no need for paint anytime soon.

@Cruisers and Co A get together sounds great! I’ll bring the beers!

Not sure if this is quicksand but I think it’s rad.
