Get a set of these. Worked great for my 80.

I’ve officially reached the end of the rabbit hole. Going to weld on new spring plates and front & rear spring hangers. Then the frame is getting media blasted and epoxy primed and painted.

I’m on a short deadline due to the arrival of a baby girl circa Oct 9!

You going to have that 40 ready to bring your baby girl home from the hospital? Clocks ticking! :steer:

Returned from a short stay at the hospital to bring this guy into the world of air breathers. Mom and new baby are doing well and big brother loves his new baby brother.

Cheers!
Congratulations! Now is the time to start introducing him to ratchets, sockets, screw drivers, and to the big wide-world of LCs.

Working on getting the shop truck ready for Fall Crawl and dialing in the turbo. I've got methanol injection and a blow off valve waiting to go in and a Wholesale Automatics valve body for the trans headed this way. Did a quick update video, the beginning is boring but we take the turbo for a test run at the end.

Which one is the boost gauge?

Is the spedo accurate?

looks like it reves up good!

Ordered a hidden winch bracket, new bump stops for my rear long travel, and a seat mounted fire extinguisher bracket to prep for Fall crawl...offroading sure is expensive

Warning: Geeky post

Situation: The cigarette receptacle/power outlet in the back cargo area of the 4R has a significant voltage drop under full load. The gauge of the OEM wires is too small to handle the current of a significant (under 10A) load. Shame on you Toyota. Works OK if all you are doing is charging your phone and powering your GPS display. The five outlets are powered by one 15 Amp fuse. The typical max current for an outlet is 10 Amps or 120 Watts (10A x 12V = 120W). So, full load on all 5 outlets would be 50 Amps.

Experience: While trying to run the fridge and charge the fridge's battery (total current about 8 Amps) the voltage dropped to the point the fridge (set on the lowest cutout voltage) shut down. Disappointing.

Fix: Added a separate power wire, a relay and a switch. The relay coil is powered by the OEM outlet circuit. Key on = relay on. The relay contacts (switch) are wired to the battery and the rear outlet. Relay on = outlet powered. I also added a switch (with a NASA style guard) to power the outlet with the key off.

Result: Outlet under full load, minimal voltage drop.

Relay behind outlet panel, next to inverter. Replaced the wires to the outlet with larger gauge wires.
