Did you add FF to the underside or just paint it? What paint do you like to use if no rust present?

Scrub and wash with Zepp purple. Then I painted the places that had old bedliner with canned bedliner. Frame and axles regular gloss black.

Once I’m done wrenching I’ll add fluid film before it heads out.

Putting the ignition back on the column and the doohickey that goes between the key tumbler and the ignition switch was gone of course. I went back to the giving tree 40 and boom. It was in there.

Pulled the cluster to see what’s what with the hacked ignition and this “bad boy” was under there. I bet they ate someone’s ass

Thanks again for the good steering wheel Classic Cruisers and also it now has a proper OEM ignition key and RED center cap that would have come on a 1974

Are 33's about max for that electric power steering? Nice work, nice rig.
No idea but they are effortless with 33’s so I’m sure it could handle a bit more.

City Racer goodness

Busy afternoon. Lots done.

Yanked out the heater for a good cleaning and paint.

Cleanup of all the random wires and crap. Blew out all the leaves from this thing sitting topless under a tree for hell knows how long
They painted the ash tray and glove box door blue so they are going back the correct color

Decided to go ahead and deal with the dash pad and windshield gasket and found an ant colony

Does the EPS box mount at the top of the Outer Column and then the inner column shaft passes through EPS at the top?

Everything from the box to the steering wheel is provided with the kit.

You reuse the Ignition and the blinker and of course the steering wheel and clamshell

And that’s where the benefit of using City Racers kit comes in, no cutting, welding or fabwork?

This is only an option for a 40 with the newer steering box and center arm. 72 and up? I think that’s right.

Yes it bolts right in. I also rebuilt the center arm and added all new TREs. The OEM box on this one feels tight.

The only other one I did had a New Old Stock box so it was perfect.

The oil galleries changed with the 74 model. Part of that was oil filter moved to the right side and the oil filter housing bolted directly to the block. I show the correct head would be 11101-60091 with a sub being 1101-60092.

FWIW, the proper part number for the F1.5 head is 60050, 60051, or 60052. The 60052 requires the step-down studs for the Intake Exh combo.

I've never seen these part numbers listed anywhere and each head was only used for a few months during the F1.5 run.

I have a 4/74 with a 60051 head.

Also, you're going to need the head bolts specific to the F1.5 head if you stick with that motor.

The 2 piece box/rag joint column came in 10/72. For the earlier trucks, swapping to a later 40 box, and then modifying the firewall/outer column might get the EPS installed but would take some time. It’d be almost the same as any other PS mod.
