Someone had pointed out how badly centered these rear springs are in the rear. The 4 Plus let’s you move the axle back an inch but I think this one needs a couple inches so I went ahead and drilled a new center an inch further back.

Should look proper.

That's got to be one hellava drill bit!
Great work on this rig, it's been exciting to watch the process that you've created to bring life back into these beasts. Looking forward to the final product.

I thought that you were supposed to simply drill the hole in the spring perch to move the spring an inch?

You know. I realized to use the second hole in the 4Plus you have to do that too. Oh well we only get one inch for this game.

It only took me 5 minutes per pack to drill in the press but I really wanted more but it was installed in the truck before I realized my mistake.

I had to reuse these home made shackles but I at least turned the edges to make them a little less offensive. I could not find and pretty 5.5” eye to eye.
They have to be this big to match the dopey shackle reversal.

I do like the bead to keep the 9/16” bolt from turning.

This is the spring. Not sure what brand but they use the big OME sized bushings so I guess OME.

I took a little break and went up to the CottonLand gathering and thought about the suspension and decided to do the perch as well as the pin and see how I like 2” back. I won’t know how it settles out until all the weight goes back on but I think this will be good. If not just a simple unbolt and put back in the center of the perch.

I like the stance. The wheels with 1” spacers look perfect in the rear flares. For the record they clear the front tie rod end by just over 1/2” now.

Man. I know this is going to be fun under the dash but I’m still ignoring it. Not there yet.

All in. Now I need to make some lines. Not my strength but here goes.

How do you like the City Racer booster? I've got to buy one for my 80, the OEM Toyota's are super expensive so I'm looking at alternatives.

I’ve got a dozen in use and zero complaints

i love that tool. just recently picked up the AN 37 deg flare set for it. Now it builds fuel and brake lines.

Cowboy is making sure I get this Electric Power steering stuff laid out correctly

The PO had moved the ignition to the dash so I’ll have to harvest all those hacked up wires and get them back to the column but luckily Toyota still sells all that
