Hey, thanks for that link. I'll probably pick up some stainless ones at some point like these.

What I was asking though is were these chrome OEM? Or painted white? Or stainless? I am guessing that it changed over the years.

More photo dumps. Radiator support cleanup. Broke 2 of the 4 bolts holding the radiator in .

Cleaned up a bit. Drilled out the broken bolts and cleaned up the threads.

Radiator. I somehow didn't take any before pics but it was so covered in green corrosion on the fins I thought for sure it was roached. Turns out I was wrong. After a pressure wash, it didn't look to bad.

I pressure tested it and to my surprise it held. Sweet! On to the refresh.

I straightened any bent fins. It came out looking pretty good.

Radiator splash guard. I didn't want to pull this but the passenger side tab was broken so out it comes.

Of course the driver side bolt broke off in the frame. Damn!

Mid cleanup. It's also a little bent.

Flux core wire isn't the cleanest but your welder has more than enough power to handle sheet metal repairs.

Battery brace. Pulled it because there were two stuck/rusted/broken bolts.

Some PB blaster and a little bit of heat and they came right out.

Rust sealed and ready for paint.

This thing was crusty and even though I cleaned it really well, I still hit it with some self-etching primer. I don't need the paint lifting off in 6 months.

Randomly decided to tackle the steering stabilizer. In place I was not holding out much hope on it being usable. Also, no castle nuts, just regular ones.

thumbnail_IMG_5611.jpg

Cleaned it up a bit and bench tested it. Ball joints are tight and move freely. Good even pressure in both directions of movement on the shock. Win!

Made by KYB. Interesting.

Painted and new boots.

Nice work. Is your fuel filter bracket missing?
