You could always add a little extra plastic spiral sheathing protection on the outside of the cable. But the fuel line also runs in the frame and up against those rubber grommets and doesn’t rub through so I bet you will be ok.

Bib lights cleaned and working. The passenger side was all crusty inside but cleaned up ok. I'm just using my stash of old bulbs for now. Maybe when I get really picky I'll look for a bunch of Koito bulbs.
The rear tail lights are not working so added that to the list. I also noticed that when I turned on the headlights, the bib lights turn off. I would assume they'd stay on like any other running light but I vaguely remember some post asking about this and it being normal. Another rabbit hole haha.

While this baby was sitting for almost a year, a leak developed or showed itself.
It has that oh so lovely smell of gear oil and from what I can tell it's coming from the birfields / knuckles.
The last thing I want to do is to get this thing running and driving and then have to park it again because it's leaking like a sieve so I plan to take care of things like this now. Time to go down the knuckle rebuild rabbit hole and put that on the list.

I couldn't get a good pick of the inner of the rim but it's dry. I'll be pulling it to inspect, but all that wet stinks to high hell of gear oil.
I did drain out what looked to be about 3 quarts of fairly decent looking fluid. Good lord this stuff stinks though!
Some globs of grease came out - odd. But no glitter.

Regarding the nla grommet for the firewall brace, a piece of protective door edge trim will tuck into that particular hole nicely.
That’s what I did after the factory grommet fell out. But not before the brace cut my battery cable!
As fate would have it, my son and I were about 250 miles from home on the way to the Rubicon when it happened. And even more fatefully, I had my heater out of the truck at the time, so my son saw the sparks right away through the hole in the firewall that the tubes go through.
We got it sorted pretty quickly. Suffice it to say the hole in my firewall brace is not oval any more!

Old post on this build thread, but did you do anything special to seal the bowl when reassembling? I installed a new element and seal in mine, but it doesn't hold pressure. I can feel the air leaking from the glass bowl rim and can't get the threaded knob any tighter by hand. Loving the refresh patina build!

Well I cheated and put my glass bowl on the new housing from Mr T.
Is your old rubber gasket thicker than the new one?
Ah. I'd actually considered just ordering a new housing since they're so cheap. I think I'll give that a try.
Hard to say if mine is thicker or not. The PO had removed the gasket and sealed shut with FIPG and no filter and then added a cheap inline filter in the hose.
