It’s no wonder this lower end was puking oil. Aftermarket RMS and the inner lip was kinked over. And they had a 3-piece gasket on he pan. Was a bit*h to remove. Should be right it’s OEM supplies :).

@CenTXFJ60 Saw the order come through today, thanks for that! I was out of stock so I got a batch of the urethane bumpers poured this evening and they’re curing as we speak. Thanks for all the info and photos in this thread. I’m certainly going to be referencing it in the next couple years as I dig into my blue 60 - I plan on doing much of the same stuff.

Photo of the operations tonight. Sorry it looks like a mess, this stuff cures in about 5 minutes so I have to work quickly.

PS - you didn’t order a sticker but I’ll send ya one anyway 😉
Pick a color, any color! They’re all 60 colors so you can’t go wrong.

What are the urethane bumpers for?

@Skniper

Those bumpers were in the trucks when new, but 80% are long gone. I’ve reproduced them as closely to the originals as I can.

Here’s another angle:

Back to Jimmy’s regularly scheduled program…

Should I feel bad about using such an expensive box to catch remnants of oil and antifreeze dripping from the open 2F as I demo stuff??? This was left over after my brother loaded his new seats onto his 62. Really thick corrugate :). View attachment 3156827
I keep cardboard like this around just to crawl under the truck. I think my BILs kamodo joe grill came in cardboard so thick that one could consider it a semi luxurious ground mattress. I’m envious of your lift set up.

Hey Chris, so true about the lift. Got it about 10 years ago and can’t believe I waited as long as I did to pull the trigger on it. Best $ ever spent on the barn.

Snake Blinders on. Cleaned up the rear bumper and mounted new end caps. Have never bought these before. Even new oem hardware which is a really nice touch. And then one of the newer kittens (feral) that has adopted the barn showed up at dinner with a cactus thorn (zoom in) sticking out of its nose. Gets interesting when it tries to dig food out of the cat bowl. I gave it my best shot removing it and he scratched the hell out of my arm and hand. He’s on his own from here.

Been busy with career junk and then had a bunch of dudes here at the house last week for RC’s @CaptClose wedding. I can tell you he definitely married up this X. Did not know any of his other wives so can’t provide any feedback :). Had Casey @POTATO LAUNCHER , Pat @dogfishlake and his beautiful lady here for the weekend and Cody @cwwfj60 and his awesome dad came for the cookout Thursday night. Maybe these guys will have some pics they can share. Oh…Monroy @fl4031003 joined us as well. Dam…hope I’m not forgetting anyone. We all jumped up to Austin on Saturday for a cruiser meet in that market. Really good folks. Unfortunately I did not get pictures during any of these events :(. As for the point of this thread, with the help of Casey while he was here we loaded the axles back on along with a new OME lift. And then I started the T-Case refresh late this afternoon. Heading to Dallas tomorrow with the flat bed and hope to bring home a treat. In the meantime I posted a 61 for sale in the classifieds. If you know anyone that may be interested please let them know. I’m not firm on the price as I want to move it. It’s a solid truck. Tomorrow will make the decision on how aggressive I’ll get moving that truck. Once the T-case and trans are back in I’ll hit the knuckles, TRE’s and brakes.

Good to see you last weekend Dave.

Sell me that UN 80 and buy Jimmy’s 61!

This things lookin’ mighty fine, Jimmy! Gives me some inspiration to keep going on my turd. I’m gonna start collecting some tools to pull my engine. Gotta keep hope alive!

Yes sir. I am happy to hear that and look forward to seeing your truck get back on the road. Glad to help anywhere I can.

Sounds like it was a great time. Too bad I missed out.
