How to install gull wings

Your discussion of the access advantages provided by the gullwings to the cargo area finally sunk in to me as a pretty fair solution to the loss of access that comes about when rear swingouts are installed. Since I added a 37-gallon LRA replacement fuel tank I've been giving some thought eventually going forward with adding a rear bumper with swingouts to move the spare out from underneath. That would make space for a LRA auxiliary tank there, either the 24 or 42-gallon.

Still to be figured out is where I can come with the approximately $5000 that it'll cost for the bumper, swingouts, and LRA tank I'll need to accomplish that.

Good set of videos. Sorry to hear about the ill-fated end to your old truck.

I was able to get a set of quad headlights for really cheap. Cheaper then I can sell oem glass for. The harness is from @jcardona1

I hated all the chrome so I painted the bezels.

I think they look great with delta bumper. Better then expected.

H4 Leds bulbs are plentiful and may have a better light pattern then an led in an oem housing. Also the glass is cheaper to replace if I catch a rock.

Those quads look great and good call on blackening those bezels. I'm guessing these would fit the LX 450? You mentioned earlier liking that look better and these seem to follow that look.

This brings to mind a question about the LX front markers. I don't recall exactly what was visible in terms of blinking when viewed off to the side for the turn signal or emergency flashers on the 80. On the LX, you'll only see any flashing if it's reflected off the bar work on your ARB. In the rear, you can see the yellow flashing distinctly when off to the side. The lack of visible side flashing seems to be OK with DOT, but I'd feel better if the flash was visible to the side for safety reasons.

Might it be possible to do a mod so the flash would be carried by the front markers for side visibility? Maybe tie them to the turn signals or to add a bright yellow LED that is tied to the turn signals?

Strong work, Lee!

You can make quads work on an LX provided you also swap the grille.

@greentruck as far as adding a turn signal the turn signal in the @Delta VS bumper is angled out maybe 30 degrees and definitely helps with side visibility. I recently added rear turn signals also. But this thread is way behind.

I am going to smoke out the led lens too..

You can also see the catch can from epic cruisers

Before the psc I used a chase bays resevoir, this has a larger capacity.

Added the wiring in for lockers, the new chassis was un locked. These wires came from the white whale.

I didn't take enough pictures of the @Delta VS 4runner brake upgrade

Hubs are machined, rotors are drill for 6 lug. Rotors now can be removed easily as it slips over the outside of the hub.

Bigger calipers and rotors, also swapped in a tundra mc. Brakes feel better then ever.

Best part is the brakes before would not hold well while crawling and on a steep decline. This was better on the Rubicon trip that came later.

Immediately after rollbuild was overland expo pnw

Thats mr pnw!

Little #rollbuild humor, it may make it into future production.

Nicely made part, it gets too warm for printed part to work.

Weight savings maybe 20lbs? Less chance of breaking a rear heater line.

Nice i like that idea of the 4runner brake upgrade better then with the spacers. What rotors are those? I don't know of any 5 lug 4runners.
