Any chance the east coast (or any) baton will make it to Cruise Moab? It would be a hoot to get to see it/add to it there after having it early on in NY.
Texas is a big state, and I think the batons have to change hands at least four times, maybe five, before @POTATO LAUNCHER and I meet in eastern New Mexico. And Cruise Moab kicks off two weeks from tomorrow. Maybe one or more of the batons will circle back around to Utah via Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho in time for Cruise Moab 2018 :-).

If the batons were closer I'd be happy to make this happen. Unfortunately we are limited with the hand we are delt.
Will get them to you asap @4Cruisers .

This was the last post on the other thread.

Spoke with @Copenhagen1 today, and we are meeting the last weekend of April in East Texas. I'll be in touch with @1911 as it gets a little closer. I believe @Drewk is going to drive his '77 over with me as well.

@cbmontgo and I have been talking on the phone, and will be ready when it comes from east Texas.

Earlier in the other thread, @Fireman in Iowa Park (just west of Wichita Falls) and @bkdraft in Chillicothe (in the panhandle, south of Amarillo) wanted to participate also. Both of them are in between myself and @POTATO LAUNCHER , so hopefully they will see this and check in.

Hate to inform everyone but @bkdraft has passed on following a bicycling accident. He was a damned good guy and fought and fought but he succumbed to his injuries.

DAMN!

Never met him, but I feel like I lost a good friend. As JohnnyC said,"prayers for all in his family".

Ok, for posterity, let me update this thread for the baton travels. Some of the last couple legs of the trip, we had to cheat a little in order to keep these things moving (albeit at a snails pace, but better than no movement). We had a day setup with @Bripars40 Brian to meet him in Hot Springs on a Tuesday. The closer we got to Tuesday, the weather looked ominous so together we decided on moving it to Wednesday. I was going to drive to Texarkana, then ride with my brother @cruiserbarn Alan up to Hot Springs. I left Tyler at 5:00a to be in Texarkana by 7:30-8a.

Well the storms we avoided on Tuesday evidently passed through Arkansas on Tuesday night and created quite a bit of damage. Brian sent Alan a text about 7:00a and said that he had been called in to work because of storm damage. I was almost in Texarkana so Alan and I decided to meet on State Line Blvd and go ahead and do our photo op since his '79 40 and my '77 40 were there together in Texarkana symbolizing the transfer in to Texas. Alan's rig started running like crap (turned out it was a crack in his intake manifold) AND my rig started running like crap (mine turned out to be a bad igniter). Any way, here is the symbolic pics of transfer.

So fast forward to last night. 3 of us met at Stanley's Famous Pit BBQ. It has been a staple in Tyler for over 50 years. Had very good representation of 40's.

Tried to get fancy after dark and get some night time shots with the neon in the background. All in all, drank some good beer (Revolver Blood & Honey) and ate some good BBQ and talked Landcruiser.

What is the paint on your rig?

That is a high dollar stealth fighter paint job!! I painted it about 5+ years ago with about $50 worth of Krylon OD Green camo paint. I think it has held up well because it stays in the garage.
