I too would like to know the paint details; you did an amazing job!

What was the final bid?

Obviously a true nut and bolt restoration of impressive workmanship. If I were to nitpick, for a truck of this caliber I'd want:
The fog lights were a tough decision. We're using OEM fog lights (we call them "Retro fog lights") for most of our builds these days, but given the theme for this truck we decided to go with something more modern. Agree fully on the jerry-can, that's something to improve on the next one. With regards to the carburetor, YES!, please tell me where I can find lots and lots of new ones :):)

Check out @Racer65 's store in his signature. He has some nice carb options!

Love that color and the seats look great, fit right in. That is the one thing I would like to update, the stock seats just don't cut it for longer trips. Maybe I'm just a pussy.

Absolutely love the truck..............seats are gorgeous, BUT how about the air cleaner housing; the one you have looks like the old style filter housing???? Or did the foreign market 43 retain this style??? Amazing either way, just a small point.

Definitely stock for this model. US spec changed overtime to accommodate smog equipment (but I'm sure others here would have a more precise answer).

Thanks! The truck won't go to auction until august.

Regarding the color, here's the formula directly from our paint guys:

891 J
841 J
805 J
846 J
801 J
150 K

I'm not a paint expert so hopefully that makes sense to you. Olive 637 is as far as I go :):)

Thank you; very helpful.

This 653 Olive green color is very complicated to match.
Official formulas either too green or too brown.
Could you please share the paint formula?
Just posted the formula above. Hope it helps!

Wow congrats on your auction price!! If I may ask, what size BFG M/T's are you running on the FJ43??

Dude...there are some sick cars in that auction, a nice 77 in Freeborn Red too. That 97 993 Turbo S is the truth! Last of the air cooled goodness.

I am thinking they are 33X10.5X15, what does everyone think?

Thanks guys! Appreciate your comments and support.

Now let's see if the buyer accepts the invitation to the Copperstate Overland. If they do, we'll do some follow up posts of the event in October. We'd like to see this rig where it belongs.

@tls3601 yes, BFG/33/MT

That is crazy money for an FJ, well done. It is interesting to see that kind of money for a well executed restoration with tasteful upgrades. I think that it bears testament to the FJ as an iconic off road platform.
