Well the float once again sank in the carb. Pulled, found another crack in the brittle metal. Repaired it once again and then ordered a 2 barrel float. If it fails again, will chop the other to fit and install. Picked up a leak on one of the back brake drum wheel cylinders need to pull the offending wheel and drum and repair.

I’ve been collecting body repair tools to tackle the dents and dings in the back. Have hammers, dollies, stud welder, welder, ports power, and grinders. When it gets warmer gonna wade into the body repair world.

Awesome story. Would be even better with some pics😜

Why I haven’t been working in her.

My side mirrors are not original to the vehicle and one side was removed. Got to looking on Ebay and ordered two chrome replacement for the the current ones. I was able to weld the other and make it functional once again. So for roughly $16.00 I now have side view mirrors. Once I win the lottery I'll buy the period correct ones, but for now these are functional.

Evening guys, work continues on the '68. I have been trying to get the heating and ventilation levers to work with limited success. The cables were froze and the clamp on the right side vent has been partially broken off. So I pulled the front off and finally got the lever mechanism out. some minor bending and working the cable got the center cable working,, Tomorrow I plan on welding the clamp back onto the lever mechanism. Squirted the some WD-40 down the cable and will work it back and forth. Also found the center air inlet that runs off the knob above the levers seized.

It will when it’s back together and working. The center vent controlled by the knob is going to be a pain. I think I need to pull the wiper arms and pull the cover to get at the flap.

Got the broken piece welded up and reinstalled the assembly back in. Pulled the sheet metal piece that the wipers go through and cleaned all the pine needles up. Inside was a cover over the center vent, got that off. Sprayed some PB into the hinge points and with a little gentle persuasion it now moves just fine. When I assembled it all back, cleaned up the fasteners on the wire wheel and installed with anti-seize. One project off the list of many.
