Thinking a little lift on the '96 may be OK . . . would love to have a 1.5" to 2" or so AFTER a bumper and gear.
Hearing good things about Dobinsons.

I think my stock height OME shocks will work for up to 2" lift or so.
Would need the caster correction bushing, I guess? Should I jump to plates?

Anyone in Charlotte have an 80 with an ARB front bumper I could check out? I'm deciding if I want that, a shortbus or a Trail gear. There's an ARB going for 800 on the for sale that I might wanna buy if I could get it for around 750 in Georgia. I want to make sure it's not too big because I'll most likely be keeping it a long time

Slee gets my vote if available but its over twice the price of the trail gear.
ARB has convenient place to lose your 10 mm but they are not that robust if you forsee yourself in the rocks.

I may have a NEW ARB bumper for sale for $850. Still in packaging.

Been driving alot more at night lately and this is really irking me... LED bulbs in halogen housings and Jeep led headlights.
They are so damn bright they blind you when traveling opposite direction or tailgating you.
I guess these are all passing inspections at DMV approved inspection stations and law enforcement isn’t concerned with equipment violations due to the current atmosphere.

My two favorite bumpers are polar opposite for the 80.
One is the AOE that Jason has that is a monster and the other is 4x4 labs that is a minimalist approach but looks great.
Not a huge fan of the ARB.... mine was modified for better clearance and I think it improved the look 110%

Didn’t you trim the bottom of the ARB up to the angled overhang?
I.e. got rid of the vertical part
Not my mods it was Kyle's old bumper. @72rockcruiser
Bottom was trimmed and it was also pushed back quite a bit... helped the approach angle a ton.
Thats right. I forgot about the mounts or back being trimmed too. Trimming the bottom has been on my to do list for years.
