Reading through your thread doing some research for a buddy, he's about to install the Holley setup from Mosley on his 40 and is thinking he's going the PowerSurge route. This still your preference, and did you ever figure out what was killing your fuel pumps?

Thanks!

I had a pinched fuel feed line.

With a 40 I prefer a simple in-line external pump these days.

I have a step by step in the 40 section under Texas Reds

Another road trip beginning today.

Headed to the Roundup. Dropping off parts. Picking up parts. Eating brisket and burritos.

300 miles in. Just under 1/2 tank down. H55 and 4.11s have this thing truly in a sweet spot.

And these Scheel-Mann seats. Holy hell. Unreal. Just got back from a 1200 mile trip in my 200 and these seats beat those hands down

That is great news!

Very cool. That’s a nice area around Mason, I love finding hidden roads in Texas when time permits...care to share some of the roads/route you took? Where is that giant tree?
The tree is called the Wedding Tree just NW of San Saba

These are the routes I have from the last two years wandering the area

I got the road at dawn. I’ve had an issue with
my 12v plugs. Instead of figuring it out I just bought a lithium jump pack to keep my phone going with the audio book and gps

Tulip was charging it in his RV and I slipped off to sleep and forgot it last night.

I was a couple miles from Llano running hard when he text me he was up and I could grab the pack. Just then I looked down and my dash was smoking.

I unplugged my phone from the in dash 12v and yakked when ashtray out and groped around to find the culprit.

I got the shorted wire loose and snatched it out. The truck was still idling and I thought to check see if any of the OEM wires were hurt and flicked the fan on. That was like dumping gas in it and the melted harness flamed up.

I reached for my fire extinguisher and realized I had an 8274 winch and a 50q fridge blocking it.

Luckily I had a 24 oz yeti cup full of water and I made a lucky splash and put it out.

15-30 seconds start to finish.

Moral of the story.

You can replace everything and you are still driving a 38 year old vehicle.

Stopped for a better jump box ….
