Living history about your Cruiser Keaton.
Priceless to say the least.
Absolutely!! I am just thinking ... this rig is like no other in so many ways, but the most extraordinary of all is to know this much history behind Old Landy, and even talking to the original owner who went on some really surreal adventures in Old Landy is no doubt astounding!

^^^. Felt like we met the real Indiana Jones. A definite high point in this journey.

No doubt he has a great fondness and respect for Old Landy. Andre has offered to share all he knows about Old Landy. We are so glad we can explore the journeys he had in more detail. We sense a really good friendship unfolding. He is a diehard Cruiserhead. He is so proud of it because he could fix anything on it.

I shared with him that I was in Kenya at 11 years old when he crossed the border into Kenya with Old Landy. He chuckled and sighed that we did not meet until now. I have attached a few pics of our first call between the boys and Andre.

Andre has friends in Dallas who borrowed Old Landy for a trip in Europe while he was in Europe. He said he would connect us with his Dallas friends who have more details about Old Landy!!

A gift that keeps on giving.

This has been such a fun story to follow! Most everything I know about the history of my 40 comes from crawling under it and fixing things. What a resource to be able to speak with an original owner, especially one as mechanically capable and adventure proven as Andre. I'm very excited to see what new adventures Old Landy gets into.

Got a close up on Andre, with us in the inset pic. Captures it well. Heart was a bonus.

Amazing. Probably wouldn’t be possible 15 years ago. What technology can do for us is truly amazing.

Hey everyone, it has been a little while since the last post, but I have a question I hope everyone comes in on. Well anyways, my dad and I are having trouble picking a color for Old Landy, so if anyone has any ideas on color you would choose then feel free to Que in!!

I'll be the first to chime in. I really like this combination:

FJ45 Green White.jpg

You know I’m partial to sky blue but the FJ Cruiser orange had my attention for quite a while. I think the orange with Cygnus white bezel and top would make a great combination.

Do share some pics of rigs with colors.
I vote for Heath grey

There is dune beige which is very common and what Old Landy wa originally (see pic of Andre doing a frame off resto before his Africa to Switzerland overland)

Saw a couple of greens (pics from mud) not hj45s, but cruisers nevertheless. Green is very common in African cruisers, especially game park rigs. Troopy color comes close to this.

@Cowboy45 and I were wondering whether two tone (one color for camper and another for the rest) or single tone.

Michael, there is only one Sky Blue that takes the cake. That remains yours. Signature.

Dunno what this color is....

Fj55 Heath Grey Example. Also check out elitelandcruisers website for a sweet fj45 he restored in this color. I would likely go two tone due to the sheer size of your rig. That is alot of the same color regardless of what color you go with. I would think a good photoshopping of a couple of your final ideas would be a good move prior to actual paint.
