I have to say that the very concept of one's leaving the truck with somebody for 12 weeks to do the installation boggles the mind....

I agree.

I searched for the story on the bumper install but found nothing. Taz, care to share?

This is the ultimate rear bumper for any 80 series that sees off road use! In typical 4+Plus fashion, this unit is virtually indestructible. A unique mounting system dramatically improves the departure angle and ensures a solid fit. Fully customizable, the tow bar can be fitted with any combination of accessories including a tire carrier, jerry can holder, jack mount and more. Each of these bars is custom built to your needs and requires modification to the vehicle frame. Due to the intense fitting process, the bars are available only at the 4+Plus and Man-A-Fre locations.

*This item is special order only. Vehicle is required for at least 8-12 weeks to complete installation. The facility is located in Globe, Arizona.

Sorry folks, but we are currently booked through the rest of this year on the 4Plus 80 series Rock Crawler bumper, and will not be taking any more reservations for the immediate future.

Why can't they put a price in there if they expect you to forfeit a truck for 3 months?
cripes ...no more reservations...you mean 2 people actually want that?

PM him, the last of your 4+ pics is his truck, he is also in the Socal 80 club section, Im not gonna bash the 4+, but wont buy it cause of what happened to him.

I wanna see someone cut the bottom of the 1/4's off the s*** part of metal
that the original plastic bumperettes cover.

I don't want to say too much about my experience with man a fre, I'm trying to let it go. What I will say is steer clear of Man a Fre! The bumper BUILD quallity is great with the exception of the latch and horrible paint (which I have changed). I would NEVER buy another one unless I could buy it unfinished with a different latch DIRECT from dave at 4+. The Last I heard Man a Fre was not offering this bumper anymore. I would recomend any of the other bumpers...Lukes seems to be the most similar to the 4+ as far as departure angle.

Calstyl2 I like your set up but does it pivot to the side as well or just down.

drops down to the rear only, someday Im gonna rebuild it to a center mount stinger type, not super user friendly but fun to design,

Chiming in...Im not done with mine, but Im getting there.

The white area will be cut out and 3/16" plate steel wings will be attached, in addition to quarter panel tubing
The main bumper is a 4x6 3/16" tube that is notched out and fit over the frame, that I cut off about 2 1/2". It is currently only bolted on using the 2nd receiver nut in the frame and tach welded to the frame at the top. Once complete, it will be entirely welded to the frame and reinforcements from the back of the receiver to the frame for added strength when towing.

Has anyone ever seen some kind of drop down (swing down?) tire carrier/bumper instead of the "standard" swing out style? I'd much rather roll the spare on and off vs. blowing my back out lifting some monster mud tire into place. Yah yah, I'm a skinny 'lil white dude I know..just thinking outside the box.

TT's this month had an article on a 40 rear that the guy used a small electric winch to swing it up and down....
