This weekend could be a fun activity for anyone to try to contact some of the old ships for the event. The USS Midway did have a D-Star event last year too and it was cool to talk with them. Battleship North Carolina.... thats cool.

Museum Ships Weekend

They have the Yorktown and one other ship down the road from me in charleston harbor activated

Last week helped a new local ham with an HF dipole i had laying around from a storm. Used the drone to drop tag line in trees, and raised the antenna in 15min. Not using the tennis ball gun anymore. Now i have some incentive to get back on HF, and finish all my antenna projects.

Nice, I've been thinking about doing the same thing to get mine higher.

What did you use? Fishing line? Paracord?

DJI Phantom 4 with Gannet fishing release, tennis ball 6oz of BBs as weight, 100lb test braid for tag line. New ham use paracord to anchor his antenna. I use thickest weed eater line at lowes. and tie uni knot to insulator.

The one i used to use

The ones I am familiar with shoot potatoes and use spray paint as propellant. I used mine last winter to knock down a squirrel's nest in a tree limb above my deck. The pesky critters were constantly dropping cracked acorns onto the deck, making a mess and aggravating the dog in his sleeping spot. I laid waste to that house of sticks. It did take a whole bag of potatoes to do it though.

Ive seen few combustion guns split, thats why i go compressed air.

Been about a year. Ran out of self control.....
It's time.

So how many of you guys use your hands regularly? As in how many hours per week?

I use my hands every day! Unfortunately, i get less sleep than I would like, so about 18 hours a day.

I use the Baofeng HAM and Radio a lot on the weekends to listen to the emergency frequency for the county - sometimes the city dispatcher, etc :)

LOL - I clicked through on my work computer, thanks Izzy!!
