I have the column shift reverse wires. They are RL colored wires.

The mystery wires may be the Speed Detector wires. The detector itself has YR wires coming out of it so there must have been a connecting two wire harness? I'll know more when i get it apart.

The other 2 wires run on the same branch of the harness and are probably LY and L? colors are a little off to me?

"I have the column shift reverse wires. They are RL colored wires."

ah yes I forgot about the column shift thing but still I knew they are reverse as one of them shoots continuity to the reverse light and puts power there when you jumper the 2 wires

so LY and L wires? Or the they could be the GY and GB wires to the Transfer Indicator? I'll shoot that next.
They dont shoot to the speed marker connector and those are LW both of them

out of time for fooling in the garage for now

Does anyone have a dome cover for a 1970 model (not the one with the switch that they wouldn't mind parting with? sell?

$ talks... everything is for sale... but most people who have one will want stupid money...... so if you have stupid $ I got one :-)

The old dash lights are neat and really handy. The rotating cover allows you to direct light 360 degrees. You can really increase it's effectiveness buy popping off the cover and putting a piece of aluminum furnace tape inside. It's highly reflective and increases the light output dramatically. It's also possible to put a higher wattage bulb in the socket or even a replacement LED light.

On another note: I modified two of the schematics on the download site.

The file named 1971FJ40(L).tif was fixed to reflect the correct wiring for the dome light. Also corrected the # label for the courtesy light switch. It said 4 before and should have been 49.

The file named 71fj40_wireCleanedM.tif I changed the labels on the lights to reflect their actual function and redrew the Vacuum switched valve circuit to show the ground wire.

Minor changes I know...
Do you know where I can find one of these dash mounted interior lights (map lights)?

I don't personally but you may want to post a WTB (Want to Buy) thread in the classified section. These parts are getting rare so expect to pony up the cash if you locate one...

Dash mount light is also known as the Vader helmet. If I could get my hands on one I'd have them reproduced. But out of the hundreds of cruisers that have come through my shop I've yet to see one single one.

Really never thought these were to find. Not sure where but have a few of them stored away.

Hen's teeth.

If you can guarantee its safe return, I would be happy to loan mine to you for reproduction. :smokin: PM me if interested... The thing is more complicated than it needs to be for sure. Military grade stuff...
