Buddy called back from the dealer and says they have a guy that does auto start installs etc and that he can probably figure it out if I can’t.

Rest of the RS3000 harness seems to just go up to this relay?

1. RS3000 harness disconnected from
RS3000 ECU.
2. RS3000 harness disconnected from the two factory starter connectors. Two factory starter connectors connected together. NOTE: The two starter factory connectors are located in the DS kick panel area.
3. RS3000 main connector disconnected at kick panel.

Same result. No start, and all dash lights go out.

Looks like there are more RS3000 harness wires going to different places under the dash. Will see what I find.

See that there are wires that likely go to this.

One black wire likely goes to the ign switch.

You must 100% remove the RS3000 to test it.

You cannot screw up the re-plug of factory connectors, as they do not plug into each other in the wrong place. Literally, unplug the connection with the RS3000, then plug the now loose male/female connectors into each other and move to the next. It took me a grand total of about 4 hours to remove and that was only because I had one wire that tracked all the way across the dash of the truck. Turned out that was an antenna wire that went to nothing. Just acted as an antenna.

The only other wire is a small grey one that I’m not sure as to where it goes.

I’m trying to get there. Just taking it step by step (It’s the engineer in me). Lol!
So, what do I do with this factory connector that was plugged into the RS3000 harness? I can’t find a mate anywhere.

There is also the black wire spliced into the blue/white wire under the steering column. Seems this is where they were drawing power for the RS3000 ECU. Yes?

I just noticed that when the batteries are connected, and with all the RS3000 harness connectors connected back as per factory, the LED on the “security switch” in the dash does not flash. Also, the FOB does not work to lock/unlock the doors. Interesting. Something has to be fried.

Back up. Just “reset” both batteries, reconnected them and tried the FOB. This is still with all the RS3000 harness connectors connected to the factory connectors. This time it works to lock/unlock the doors. I also see the LED flashing on the “security switch” in the dash when I lock/arm the vehicle/doors. Just for fun, I opened the DS door using the key while the vehicle was locked. The alarm sounded, so it seems the RS3000 is working fine. So, wondering if it is either the ign switch or the starter somehow.

I’m also going to pull my battery isolator to make sure it isn’t damaged. Will likely do that next, then check the starter.

STOP screwing with the alarm.

These are classic symptoms of a bad connection in the battery power and/or ground cables. That's what you need to be checking.

Sounds like a bad connection or bad starter!

I would check all the cables, especially to the starter, if they are tight, tap the starter a few times with a blunt object and see if you get starter turn. If you do, you need a new starter or rebuild your existing! The tap only works most times and only a couple of times!

Well, going to pull the isolator so I can test it.

Going to remove all the wires, and just have my starter battery hooked up.
