40 power steering gearboxes would be a nice inventory item, if found on the cheap.

What's the story of the HDTs?

Rebuilt? Imports?

These are imports from Panama, and as far as I know they arent rebuilt. Whats the going rate of a 40 series PS box?

If they are imports of Panama I suggest you have them do a compression test and have them running for a while with a radiator hooked up to them.I lived in Panama and can tell you that these motors are worth there weight in gold there and most die painful deaths in Coasters (Busses).

Any chance in just getting the exhaust manifolds from the 1HDT's and the connection pipe from the Turbo to the intake collector?

Nice truck and great to see you had your own container. Less potential for damage

Interested in a supercharger kit

Update Day 5
Today my rig is finally in Colombian soil. After a full day of paperwork and running from office to office and of course having the general manager of the Port as your friend helped me a ton. What normally takes around 2-3 days to do, I did in one day. So I can't complain. Tomorrow I will take my rig to the local mechanic to start working on some pending items from when I did my rebuild.

Finally stopped in this thread and boy does it deliver! Glad to see you are up and running down there, good luck with your hunting. I really wish I could get in on the leather seat covers but it isn't in the cards right now. :(

No worries.. There will be time for you to have a leather kit!! Thanks for your well wishes.

Such a good looking 80...

I had no idea there were other superchargers for these motors! Now I could see doing mine.

Wonder who makes it and how much? That isn't a TRD is it? Looks different?

Update - Day 6-7

Not a whole lot has happened this week. I took my rig to the local mechanic to give it a once over before I embark on a 1000KM trip up to Bogota. This weekend is a 3 day weekend so I wont be working on the leather until Tuesday morning. I have sourced all the parts I need for my 5 speed swap. The tranny is waiting for me in Bogota and I am taking with me the rest that I bought here in Cartagena. During the time at the shop, I saw a new way of removing the front axles, its very ingenious if you ask me and saves you a ton of time. I will post pictures and you guys can see.

It consists of removing the top bearing cap and the tie rod end of the knuckle arm and the rear oil seal set And thats it you slide out the complete axle aasembly. Quick way to work on the axle without having to take apart completely the front axle and having to replace any of the paper seals.

Tomorrow I will be wheeling so expect some cool pictures and videos in my next uodate. Cheers

@mel lowe calls this the "Commando" method. Ask him how well it worked out for working on the 62 at GSMTR when you have a chance... lol.

I goofed and pulled the bottom cap instead of the steering arm. "Commando" works if you pull the top like Frank described.
