I took in all my documents to the department of licensing here in Washington and was told my paperwork was not adequate:bang:.

They will not let me title/register because they are not satisfied with the bill of sale I have. They want one of their 'release of interests' forms signed and notarized by the PO. Apparently this is needed since there is no legal ownership document to be signed over, even though QLD AUS doesn't use titles??? Frustrating!

On a happier note, here are a few new pics from today.

Drive it down here to Alabama, I'll get it registered here. If the vehicles are older than 25 years they don't need a title and none will be issued. They do want to see the vehicle so they can check the vin number. All you get is a tag registration receipt. Then you can drive it back home with that receipt and get it titled there.:banana:

If all else fails, I might have a road trip in my future!

Come down we'll take care of you southern style! It's still the good ole US of A down here. You know herein 'Merica!

Oh and on the subject of the fender flares my $0.02 is to remove them.
I agree with the removal sentiment with one caveat... Check to see what's under them first. I'm sure there are countless stories of hack jobs being covered by flares/diamond plate, that was the case with my 40.

Rustic. If you want a to get the 45's together at a mid point between Camas and SW PDX after my new brake master shows up and is installed we can compare paperwork and enjoy a cold one. It took me 2 tries but the Oregon DMV finally accepted everything I had from the PO which included NZ paperwork. The PO imported my 45 about 10 years ago through the Long Beach terminal but never registered the truck in California. The sticking point I had was the same as yours, bill of sale. When we sell a vehicle in the US we sign the title in a certain spot releasing interest in that vehicle and the person purchasing it then signs the same title in a different spot acknowledging they now have ownership of said vehicle (or something to that effect). My issue was there are no titles in NZ just registration cards that are passed on when a vehicle is sold. That registration card is then signed by the next owner but nowhere is there a place for previous owner to sign releasing ownership. That was my hang up at least. I work with a Kiwi and he said the registration card is all that they use to signify ownership. I went as far as to call the NZ DMV with my Kiwi coworker and the woman I spoke to could find absolutely no record of the truck every having existed in NZ....

I see these pics and I think 'How can you not love a troopy??' I wish we got those wagon wheels down here. For a non-OEM rim they look so dang good.

Thanks Cult. I really like how they turned out too. They are OEM wheels from an early 80's Fj40. I waivered back and forth till the day I mounted them up. I originally wanted 16" splits but definitely happy how it turned out.

Removing the flares would be the way to go, although it's beautiful anyway

personally i like flares, when they have a reason to be there. if it were mine, i might be tempted to space the wheels out a bit for a slightly wider stance, but that's only my opinion and i know its never a widely held one :P

if you plan on maintaining a narrow stance, then losing them will def clean up the lines

beautiful looking troopy! just dont show my wife or she will want one :P

Haha...I saw that 40 also, super cool. Gotta love the LX interior. I would
kill for one of those back seats.

Wow, that's crazy! A matching 40! Justin, I will buy back the 45!!!

Brian, you know nothing has more of a coolness factor than an 45LPB!
