My new arrival, Jimboomba- an '84 HJ47 Troopy

Been a while since I updated here. The troopy has been great. I acquired an FJ60 a little less than a year ago and made that my daily driver, so it has commanded most of my attention and $$.

I have been getting Jimboomba out for some weekend cruising and it’s been dependable and flawless.

We’ve been having a nice streak of dry weather in the last few weeks so I snapped a few pics at the park my son and I were exploring.

The last photo shows my one big upgrade that I got as a gift for Christmas, the weather tech rear hitch step. Now the kids look a little more graceful climbing in.

Just had a chance to read through this thread. Such a stunning HJ47.

I am looking at adding pinstripes/decals back to mine. It originally had them and they were removed at some point. This is great inspiration.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a shorty 40. Man they are tiny compared to the troopy. Also, both have stock suspension and the troopy sits at least 4 inches higher.

Wow, time flies. Haven’t posted any Jimboomba pics since 2018. Here are some recent ones. Jimboomba is still going strong! The red 40 in the previous post has undergone a full resto over the past two years and is nearly completed. I post some pics over on Instagram also @rusticcruisers

The next cruiser going under the knife will be my FJ45LPB that I got from @whitey45 a number of years back. I don’t think I’m going the ‘full resto’ route on the 45, but who knows once I get started. The rabbit hole really sucked me in on the red Fj40 below.
