Funny thing was I had one of the ball bearing from the birf roll off the table on my foot 10 minutes before. It hurt enough for me to think I should change shoes but I didn't. Lesson will not be learned. It's just too fxxxing hot here in the summer for proper boots.
I feel your pain. I dropped a tow hitch off the bench, took the front of my toe down to the bone.

Never wear flip-flops myself - if I ever did I'd lose both feet the first day . Way too much time welding , grinding and working around things that like to remove body parts . Still fighting left foot/toes from frostbite 18 months ago - color is getting a little better .
Sarge

I too never wear flip-flops. I was wearing tennis shoes years when a friend help me remove the hard top off my 68. I lifted the top up enough so my friend could put 2X4s between the top and the tub. We then lifted the top off, one on each side. On the my side one of the 2X4s fell outward on right on my big toe on the right foot. Because we had the top in the air I couldn't react. This was over twenty years ago. That nail still grows uneven. Wasn't long after this my employer required and provided safety shoes. I always kept the old shoes to use around the garage and wood cutting. I have to admit lately I been going back to tennis shoes. Hard lesson for you but has reminded me to not be so cocky and start using my safety shoes again. In the Phx area there is a ad campaign about kids and safety around the pool. It only takes a few seconds. Around the shop it only takes one mistake. I have noticed on Mud on many times someone will post a picture of their work and see their feet with flip-flops. I've also seen too many pictures of feet like yours.

On a lighter note can't wait to see pictures of your new to you BJ40.

Great news Cim! Looking forward to seeing it in person

Truck is going through customs at the moment. No hiccups so far other than a missed signature on the EPA form which I just emailed to the customs dude. I'm out of town till the 24th on family vacation and a work trip so extending my trip to fly to Tampa to drive it home won't be an option. I will have it shipped home so hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get back home.

I am another who never wears flip flops ... They never stay on my feet ... uncomfortable... It's like a gstring for your feet

I grew up wearing timberlands (grunge/burnout) Now wear anything steel toe .... still only lace to the ankle :) ...unless...

i wear jungleboots :)

Hope the toe is feeling better now

I'm still waiting on the unloading and custom's hold that it's stuck in. It officially made it to port on Monday. I don't know how long that usually takes. I'll start getting antsy when I get back home from work trip on Tuesday.

Cruiser is heading to shipper's warehouse today. I sent payment yesterday afternoon for the shipping and customs charges. Once that clears I will be able to schedule a pickup for it to get shipped to my house in Austin. I was pleased with Charles Zeller with everything except how long it took. If or when I decide to do it again I will make sure I buy two Land Cruisers so I don't have to wait for another person to share container. All his quotes were right on the money with no unexpected charges.
The following is the shipping and customs charges for anyone looking to do the same. Once all fees are paid I will add all details to my first post so it will be easy to find. I still have shipping to Austin and all the nickel and diming crap to get it titled.

Shipping
$1,500 shared container
$300 loading/strapping/etc
$140 terminal handling fee - Tampa
$140 courier documents
$2,040 SHIPPING TOTAL

Customs
$60.70 customs duty.
$125 CF3299
$35 ISF: IMP sec filing
$40 ISF customs bond
$107.50 customs exam
$368.20 CUSTOMS TOTAL

I got word today that payment had cleared and the Land Cruiser was ready for the taking. Contacted Aaron with Summit Auto Transport that it was ready to go. It's getting picked up on Friday and will finally be in my hands early next week. :)

The 40 finally arrived at my house today. It needed a jump due to the battery as drained. I realized that the radio turned on with the truck but doesn't turn off unless you physically turn it off. Easy fixed by removing the radio. After charging the battery I did drive it a bit around the nieghborhood. I yanked off the horrible gold wheels and put on the 255/85s and 70 series wheels that have been waiting to go on. Suspension will start tomorrow along with complete fluid change on everything. The list is long on fixes. Mostly a bunch of little things that need attention. Such things like torn shifter boots, floor plugs, missing screws in taillight covers, guage lights, etc. I would like to take it camping this weekend if I can.

Very nice and congrats Cim. Looking forward to watching your build.

Does your BJ have the H41 trans?
From the little I've read up on it I believe so.

The wheels are a definite improvement - I purchased the same for my '86 FJ60 project. Bet you're glad to finally have possession and be able to drive it around.

Congrats Mr Cimarron, enjoy hat Rig. the wait was long but I'm sure you feel proud at this moment that you Finally owned a TLC.

I have some Questions for you?

1- Are you going to leave the window tint or you are going to remove it?
2- Since you have a Light orange on paint, have you consider dark paint for those rims?
