Just documenting my 'What did you do with your land cruiser this week?' Comments here...

Crawled into the engine compartment to try to clean it up while it's so big and roomy

Got the firewall fairly clean, but had to slink down and crawl out the bottom when my hip, knee and ankle started killing me again.

I had 8 injections Thursday (trigger points and discs) and am going to suck it up and go camping/fly fishing for two weeks in Colorado.

But, when I stand for more than a minute or walk more than 30 feet, I gotta squat/sit/lie down. The injections should be at their best the first week in Colorado, so I'm gonna try to fish, but carry my old iPhone 3, with audio books... I'd rather sit on the river bank and listen to a good book at 10k' than sit here in Vegas and sweat.

Gonna get my daughter and her boy friend to load the Tundra. I'll have the trailer ready, in dribs and drabs and Dianna will have all the food packed.

I'm towing 44 back to the guy to install the engine on Tues and we'll leave for CO on Sat, week from today.

Hi Danny
Just realised you are my age group. Go the 60ties
Nat and I are just about ready to embark on a 40 ies trip with Nats dog Brandi
Nat looking at the photo of Gunner tells me he must be a nice man he's a dog lover..
Nodding my head I agree.
Have you any tips traveling with dogs?
Just been told I must post a photo of Brandi.
Photos of your motor brings back memories. I did a 300 km in the forty last week . Loved every Kilometre.
Cheers Peter, Nat, Brandi

go camping/fly fishing for two weeks in Colorado.

Fair wind and a following sea...Serene surroundings have a way of knocking the edges off a rough day. Hope your on the downhill run to mending. Can't wait to see the pics of the reunion (engine/Body)...Do you mind snapping a few pics of the trout stream (s). @rkymtnflyfisher and I live vicariously through your Colorado fishing excursions...

G'Day Peter, Nat and Brandi!

Brandi's a great looking Boxer! Looks ever vigilant!

If Brandi's like all my dogs (except Chester, but he's trying), it's easy to forget they are sleeping behind/beside you... Stop often and let them enjoy the trip too... They are a joy to have along... And never ask for anything.

Enjoy your trip, as we will ours ... Photos when we return!

Glad your 40 is running so well!!

Brandi is a beautiful looking Boxer, and I really like the fawn color with the flashy white markings. Of course you can tell by my avatar that my family is almost obsessed with Boxers. The big male in the pic is Jasper. He's about 11 years old now, close to 95 pounds, and has turned very grey. The pup in the pic is Rhaine, she is close to 10 years old now, about 55 pounds, but still has her fawn color. We also have their last pup, Jazzy, a flashy fawn color who is about two years old now. And, Jazzy's 5 pups who are almost 5 weeks old now. The pups father is a Boxer we found locally who happens to be very much like Jasper and about 85 pounds.

I've been watching/reading everything you have posted about your 40, and the restoration you have been going through. Thank you for all thread, I've enjoyed it. I have the time, but no money to do what you are doing, and my 40 definitely needs the attention.

Well... I towed 44 back to her engine installer this morning and this guy was waiting across the street...

I hope the presence of this strange white guy is an innocent coincidence and that there are no shenanigans ... This is probably the guy that stole her heart in the first place... 44 better be there when I return!

On another note... I was recently told to "take (my) kumbaya preaching ass back back to (your) feel good thread"... So, here I am!!

Please sing along with me... :rimshot:

We are leaving Saturday morning and Chester, having worn Gunner out, again, is trying to remain abreast of the news and weather

More likely, Chester's checking out the info babe;)

Hope the rebuilt motor runs good. You will find that rebuilds of motors that didn't have serious issues run and feel exactly the same as the old motor, in a good way.
