Always love the updates to this thread; I'm guaranteed either dogs, the great outdoors, or a beautiful beige 40... And quite often some combination of those three. Love the CO pics... Can't wait to hear the 44 update.

Danny, I like this one best "If the alarm goes off, take cover" in some of your other sample warnings they communicate a threat and that's not always advisable. Just my two cents.

Good point Mike... Let their imagination run rampant... I could have a Predator flying overhead... Or, I may throw rocks... Or anything in between.

Thanks!!

Speaking of 44 update... I just spoke to the auto shop... Luigi should have all the components back on the longblock today... The tranny seal and new clutch are installed. Should have the 2F installed and running before the end of the week... Then they take it to the muffler shop... That may take a few days, depending in the muffler shops schedule... Then they pick it up and drive it until they are satisfied... Then she comes back home to her one true love!!

My guess... Since I've told them I'm not in a hurry... 2-3 more weeks... I learned patience in the Air Force and perfected it in my last working gig, developing point of sale software for The Home Depot... Both about the same number of employees... And the same hurry up and wait mentality.

I'm hoping my iPad camera kit arrives today... Then more pictures to share!

I received my iPad camera connection kit this afternoon and I've imported my pictures to my iPad and will post a few... No pics of 44... As I said in the post above, no 44 yet.

This is the Lower Conejos River Valley (near Hwy 17)... Picture taken from top of steep Hwy 17 grade... Coming from Chama, NM. Most of the lower valley is private or 'angler association member" access. I can't recall exactly, but I think the lower end altitude is about 7-8k'. About 9 miles up NFS Road 250, the Rocky Mountain Lodge has some supplies, propane and an RV Dump ... It's 8800'.

This is the Lake Fork Campground, where we camp, right next to the Conejos River at about 9600'. Suzy and Tommy have their pop up on the river site. Our Casita is on the next site. No other site within 100'. Sorry for the round pic... I figured it out how to correct it later.

Here's Chester by the river by tpsuzy and Tommy's campsite... Again... Round picture..

Hope y'all enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them

Hopefully, my next picture post will feature 44 and a new adventure with 'daBoise' (the boys, Gunner and Chester)!!

Technically speaking... I can't wait to start setting up 44 for remote trips again!!

Thanks for posting Danny. Beautiful trip and photos.

LHere's a picture I forgot... My dogs always kiss what I catch, before I return them to the river... Or lake.

This is the first time I had Chester wade with me... I hadn't realized my hip/leg felt so good, until I walked down to the river...I was wet wading, by the campsite, that day, in a pair of Keens sandals and socks, sweatpants pulled up.

Damn that water was cold!! It got better after I pulled the socks off, but was still very cold.

Didn't get a pic of Chester actually kissing this Browny, but he did!!

Should have the 2F installed and running before the end of the week..

^^^Great news!!! Beautiful scenery REF: your fishing trip....!!! I fished vicariously as I read your thread..

Nice fish! I miss fishing the small mountain streams out there! I guess next year will be my year, it is Maine this year, and it was 2 week solo to the Yellowstone region last year. Hope to see some pics of your ride soon as well!

You see that guy killed in Yellowstone the other day? Pretty sure it was a Grizzley.

Great pictures and some beautiful country. I love that kind of country. Maybe someday I will get to see that area.
