I forgot, what was the mileage on that engine ? Was that 93k original miles?

Don't know total mileage, Eric...

It was so tired, I'm guessing at least 193k... Could be more... I only know that the odometer showed 93k when I got it in Mar 2014.

Good news! I spoke with my rebuilder and he's found everything we need for the rebuild. He ordered it all from his regular supplier. The Pistons are ITM RY6215-020 (RY6215 are dome-topped 75-80 and -020 means .020" over). They will be delivered later today.

I posted all the piston info I learned, while searching, in post 15 of THIS THREAD

Again..Well done. Looks like everything is lining up amazingly well...! Luck of the Irish? Go play the lottery. You never know!!

Well... Who is this? Gunner (right in avatar) or Chester (left on avatar)

Here they are, rough housing, at warp speed... Chester us VERY aggressive, but Gunner puts him in his place, when need be... Gunner is the PuppyWhisperer. Chester just turned 6 mos.

Well, tomorrow is the first non-doctor/non-physical therapy day I will have had in almost three weeks.

I'm taking Chester, in the Tundra, up to Lincoln County, NV (180 miles round trip), to target shoot, for the first time. There's a very nice spot, about 6 miles from anything that I like to use. Perfect for up to 200yds, but, I'll only be using shorter targets this time.

Should be only about 102 up there, 109 here, we'll get up there and back before it's too hot.

Gunner could never handle fireworks or gunfire or power saws or 44 starting... He hates loud noises. I built him a set of ear protection and he was better, but he's coming up on 10 and it just stresses him too much.

Chester hasn't noticed anything thus far, I'm anxious to break him in to target shooting... I hate going by myself.

So, I'm taking a .22 rifle, to start with, then my M&P .22 semi-automatic. If he handles that well, I'll try my new M&P .40 Shield (I haven't had a chance to try it out). If he handles that, I'll try a mag or two of 5.56, in my AR.

I wish it was cool enough to let him run loose, but simply too snaky right now...

my mastiff HATES loud noises - so I give him Prozac when I know the noises are coming. It really helps a lot - I don't keep him on it 24/7, just when I know he's going to have issues. At this point, I bet in a year or two 4th of July won't bother him at all.

supposed to be 110 where I'm going this weekend.... ick

You sure he isn't smarter than you and is using it to feed his addiction? :hmm:

44's 2F rebuild was finished on Friday, I stopped by the machine shop on the way home from the airport this morning and paid for the rebuild.

On Tuesday next, I will tow 44 back to the auto shop and the machine shop will deliver my engine to be reinstalled.

The rebuilder bored the cylinders .020" over, turned the crank 1010 and decked the block and head and rebuilt the head. He installed threaded oil galley plugs and primed the oil pump and installed new domed Pistons and a new cam. BTW He sourced the new ITM domed Pistons from Engine Performance Warehouse (EPW).

He found nothing wrong with the engine or head, just tired and had broken upper rings, due to age and/or pinging... It was pinging when I bought it, before I adjusted the valves and set the timing.

Here's a pic

We're supposed to be in Colorado the last two weeks of this month, so I don't expect to pickup the finished 44 until early August.
