One thing I want to mention about the Marlin Crawler knuckle rebuild kit - there were two parts of the seal assembly that they didn’t include which I wasn’t aware of until after the fact: See Photos

thankfully mine were in good shape, and I could re-use them, but it was annoying.

At the time of purchase I didn’t go to Cruiser Outfitters because I wanted the Marlin ECO seal, now that Kurt offers this as an option I’d go with them over Marlin Crawler.

Jesus Man! Every time I click this thread I am besieged with something else to buy.🆘

btw...besieged is NOT in my everyday language 😳

Rapidly approaching my wits end with the high beam issue and any help would be appreciated

Thus far I’ve done this:
- Confirmed the contacts are clean in the assembly
- Confirmed terminals are clean within the switch
- Confirmed there’s 12V at the plug for the high and low beams with a multimeter
- Checked fuses, all in working order

Notes:
- When SEALED BEAMS are plugged into the new Toyota H4 harness, I get both HIGH and LOW beams
- When the H4 lights are plugged In, only Low beams work, which is perplexing

The only thing I haven’t checked is the relay in the cab, which should be delivered any time now....three days late....@$!%!NG postal service

Is there anything that I have overlooked? I’ve cleaned every contact there is

on top of it all I found this was glued and then chose to break today when inspecting the contacts so if anyone has a lead on a gently used turn signal harness I’ll happily pay

Here’s a thought...I do not know for certain, maybe someone that know for certain can chime in. I ‘think’ that the OEM relay you are waiting on is interchangeable with one of the other relays. Again, not certain but I think I remember so.

Maybe pull one and put it in place of the old one and see if that is or is not your issue.

Fwiw we've stocked the Marlin seals since 2007 time-frame :D

Did you get your headlights sorted?

I gave that a whirl today John, no luck - I'm totally bamboozled

Update on the headlight issue, safe to say I have no idea what to troubleshoot next.

Fixes / Troubleshooting

- Confirmed the contacts are clean in the assembly
- Confirmed terminals are clean within the switch
- Confirmed there’s 12V at the plug for the high and low beams with a multimeter
- Checked fuses, all in working order
- Cleaned the terminals under the dashboard
- Replaced dimmer switch wiring harness with new OEM hardware
- Replaced High/Low relay switch below the dash with a new unit
- Inspected Drivers side body ground (Looks good)

Notes:
- When SEALED BEAMS are plugged into the new Toyota H4 harness, I get both HIGH and LOW beams (11.5 volts on the High and 12.5 volts on the low respectively)
- When the H4 lights are plugged In, only Low beams work, which is perplexing

Observations: Might be related?
- The headlights are pulsating slightly, and this corresponds with a slight movement observed in the voltage meter needle on the dash gauge.

Backstory: The body shop killed both deep cycle batteries by repeatedly jumping them while the truck was on "vacation" for a year, and I'm thinking they likely toasted my alternator voltage regulator in the process - why this would cause the high beams not to engage with the H4's I have no idea

Any and all bright ideas are welcome @CenTXFJ60 @Kleatus @POTATO LAUNCHER @rhah @NookShneer @John McVicker

- here are some photos of the new Dimmer Switch harness for those that are interested

On the right you can see the original wiring harness, and the new harness installed pictured on the left.
The new OEM Dimmer Switch is approximately 5 inches longer than the stock Landcruiser switch

So at this point everything but the stock harness has been replaced?

James, I maybe missed it but the H4 headlights you are having probs with, are they the Toyota upgrade PN 81110 60p70?

Thats what I have and I’m trying to remember if I had the same issue as you...and what I did to resolve it. I will tag @Rockymtnreaper, he has this set up and may be able to have an answer.

Indeed, I added PN 81110 60P70 - tuckers work without any problems as far as I know
