Turned out good. I have a set of NOS fenders im saving for my 42
You guys probably forgot about this build! Well there is a baby on its way! So had to finish all the Reno’s in the house. Once baby comes maybe it might slow down again, but for now I got my brother over to sandblast all the interior. It’s a start for now.
Congrats on the baby!
Do your best not to lose the momentum. I'm digging this build.
I haven't forgotten about your thread. I'm subscribed. Just curious, are you going to put the pinstriping back on?
Thanks! I figured this sandblasting would get me going again!
Awesome! And iv always told everyone I want to keep the old pinstriping. But I’ll make a final decision once she’s painted.
Looking good man! You will value your free time alot more now. I know i sure do now.... Lotsa late nights in the garage. #2 on the way in 9 weeks.
Gotta keep that ole pinstriping! Here's my 1977. I had to reproduce a few sections of it, but it maintains the vintage look.
Haha yup, first week after birth I have not found time. Maybe the second week! Lol
Yup looks just right !
Not sure how I missed this thread before. Great work!
Im gonna give this a solid nope! haha
Garage time will now be at naps and after 9pm. Ive spent many a nap with the baby monitor in the garage with me
Okay third week! Wife knows I need to get this damn thing done
Most of the interior is all done, now onto Random stuff. Weld old gas filler onto new quarter panels, I was about to weld it in last night but it doesn’t fit perfect so gotta do some massaging.
great build thread! I know how it is working on Canadian fj's
Do your self a favor and head over to Canadian tire and get a mig welding cart when they are on sale for 60$ you will thank me
Yea I could use one! lol
Back to work ! Gas filler is tacked in.
now onto transmission hump, just the one side was rusted out.
heres my half ass fix.... I guess it’s not that bad, it’s the fitment back onto the 40 that’s not too pretty I’ll post that later tonight.
So it ain’t pretty at all...but once I throw some gasket in there she will seal just fine! This will never be seen, so that’s why I slacked off lol
Getting ready to fit in the roll bars onto fender wells, the feet were quite rusty with some holes in them. Just wire wheeled and welded in a little bit of new steel.
Coming along nicely.
