Your making it look easier showing the new parts. If I didn’t already order radiator #2 (60 series) I would probably commit to cutting the crossmember. I’m trying my best to keep everything bolt on, except the body.

How does the 60 radiator fit? I didn't even think to try one of those. Maybe I don't want to know. Lol. I'll just keep doing things the difficult way....

It fits and covers the grill opening good enough and sits up a few inches above the crossmember. Still need to make some brackets to mount it now that the new Champion rad came in yesterday.

Oh man that Cummins looks cool in there! And the radiator looks great too. Nice setup. Way easier than moving the crossmember and all that non-sense. Should be fine for cooling too....those Cummins don't require much for cooling as I recall.

We are in the middle of a Cummins swap on this really cool old RV I have.....which has been taking far too long. Too many Land Cruiser projects......

No work on the 79 today.....but we received a couple of cool new trucks. Not sure where they're going to end up(whether we will build them and sell.....or build and keep).

The 45LV is a 67 with a really cool story....AND most importantly, all of its parts. Those trucks are fun to put together and since we have one for reference, makes the job really easy.

The Troopy is a 92 FZJ75, Middle East spec(Oman)...1FZ-F, 5 speed, AC truck. 11 passenger seating. Was some kind of school bus. It's a cool truck but it's tired. No rust. Just a well used truck. I have some pretty cool plans for it....we'll see if I can slot it in somewhere...lots going on with builds right now.

The Troopy has this guy's mug on the wheel. No idea who it is but it makes me laugh.

It’s almost so ugly you have to keep it!

Wait until you see what is under them. Lol.

There is so much dust embedded in those covers...if you touch them, it goes everywhere. So much dust everywhere.

Looks like there would be a fair amount of DNA on those covers :D

I gotta tell ya......the seat covers gross me out and I have what I would consider a pretty high tolerance. I feel like I need a biohazard suit of some sorts. Maybe I can make some Tyvek covers for the covers. Ha.

Did you already get rid of that older style LHD dash from the first page?
Trying to track one down. Mine is cracked/busted. Just looking for the 'frame' metal portion.

I still have that dash but now with this Troopy....I'm not sure if I need it or not. It's in pretty good shape ....so we were thinking it might just be easier to refurb it and then swap into Troopy when the time comes. But a new style dash could be in the Troopy's future so who knows.

I bought a new one from Dave at Japan 4x4. Wasn't horribly priced as I recall. But then again, I block out things I don't want to remember.

Troopy meets #2 for the first time. AND Troopy gets to spend the night indoors. First time probably in it's life.

FINALLY got some time to work on #2......can't say I did anything impressive. Started off badly......I had stashed away a new headliner over the winter. Bought this from the people I get a lot of my take-offs from...didn't even realize that it came from a newer truck(09 and up).

I was expecting a nice relaxing day.....these headliners are easy installs. When of course they fit the cab they are going in. All looks good.....

Went to measure for the opening to where the wires for the touch lights on the overhead console go.....and realized something wasn't right. REALLY not right. Pre airbag on the left, airbag dash on right.

I used the old headliner to make a pattern on the new deeper headliner.....carefully cut it out and set out to install it in the truck. The from lip isn't right. Had to tuck it behind the windshield gasket. It fits pretty well. Toyota went to a different size clip to hold it to the truck....a much larger diameter head. Had to order those. Unfortunately the original liner is kind of beat up and stained. May end up just buying some ivory suede or maybe even a darker color and redo it. Not sure how I feel about the cut down liner. Tucking it behind the gasket is a huge pain in the ass.

Also received a lot of good stuff from my take-off people.....fresh seat belts(mine truck take offs), mirror, handles, screws, covers....all of it. Unfortunately no bolts to install seat belts......so more stuff on order from Megazip. The longer belts came out of the 76... I think I'll put those in the Troopy since the Troopy ones are disgusting.

Spent a few hours today working on putting this guy in.....these things are beautiful.

Rear panels, belts and a few other things tomorrow if I get the time.

Lots and lots of parts....in our clearing out of the new building, we put all the 76 series parts in the truck, along with all the parts that came with it. Trying to keep things together. We've got 4 different LC builds happening(along with the fancy car work we do) so keeping things somewhat together is a must. Helps when you have a pickup bed to store things in. Not much you can fit in a Lambo when it's apart.

This thing was a dirty mess from it's travels and storage. A good cleaning was necessary as we have an image to keep up.

Can't imagine many LC79s get parked next to brand spankin' new GT3RS's in Miami Blue.

Love the profile of this truck. Don't love the mess of parts in the bed.

So, this thing is 25 year exempt because it wasn’t a complete runner? I find it absurd that one can import an engine less than 25 years old, or a rig without an engine that is less than 25, but not a complete runner.

I believe, perhaps incorrectly, that the Diesel engines are still subject to the 21 year EPA rule.
