These folks make a dongle for the taco and 4r

I talked with them a few days ago and they’re considering one for the 100 and 200 also

Right, but that means there is a gaping hole in occupant protection from a side impact, which is arguably the most dangerous situation you'll be in on modern roads.

Correct.

But…. Some of us race dirt bikes, motorcycles, and own multiple older vehicles that don’t even have airbags to start with.

Sooooo 🤷🏻‍♂️

Former Ducati owner here: I get it.

But I also go cut up wrecked cars to get people out of them as part of my work and the difference airbag systems make is astonishing. To hamstring such a critical part of these systems over more comfortable/supportive seats is something I’ll always advocate against.

If they could find a way to validate compatibility with the OEM SRS I’d consider it sufficient but that’s an extremely expensive proposition.

The odds of this turning into a problem are very low, but the consequences potentially very high.

Same here. Former first responder. Seen all sorts of folks mangled, Including myself

If I understand their claims correctly, the dongle is just to bypass the ONE bag in the seat, and retain the functionality of the rest of the SRS system.

Is there a way to safely test these claims? No idea..

Note: I have no kids and my wife will never drive this. Otherwise, my views on the topic may be different.

Important distinction, and something everyone considering this should think about.

I know MBS seats are hard to get here in the US and they are Russian made... They do use the frame and parts of the OEM seats including the OEM airbags. I would not mind getting the parts and DIY as long as there are some semi decent instructions on how to hook up the electrics.

Oh my

Has anyone attempted to hook up LX 570 seats in a LC 200?

I would like to add seat thigh extenders in my 200, and I’m thinking the easiest would be to drop in some lightly used LX 570 seats. I can’t imagine the wiring will be too different (if different at all)

Yes, that is my main objective as well. I have looked but not many for sale on ebay or otherwise. I guess 200's last too long...

Those look awesome

Looks like they’ve got a point of contact in Miami. Both physical address and phone number.

Be good to call and find out. My preference would be to get the parts and convert myself. Perhaps we can organize a group buy?

I have a 2016 LX570, that doesn’t have thigh extenders? Am I either retarded, or this wasn’t an option in Australia?

Thanks man. I spoke with the folks at Scheel-Mann today to clarify. With the seats comes a kit which consists of wiring and resistors to make the airbag light go away and allow it to function. This is only for the passenger side, as the drivers side is good to go as-is.

Everything has shipped. Just waiting.
