Well this thread took a left turn.

Guess I can try to steer back to topic...
Cant wait for the 2f to be appropriately placed in. and if that's not the case, sorry I can't read and just assumed a Nolanz Project is mandated to have Toyoda Parts Genuine.

Yes. I did not press the 2F issue but the new owners want to make this old pig Toyota again which makes me very happy

I already have a couple SBC Cruisers, so I've been wanting to get a 2F back into the stable. This truck was so clean and close enough to original that it was the perfect candidate to make that happen. Plus, the V8 swap was done so cleanly that going back to the 2F isn't going to be overwhelmingly difficult. I had already discussed with @wngrog the idea of making the swap back to Toyota power before the 55 had even arrived at his shop. After he had the chance to give it a once over he agreed that it would be the right direction to take the project. The short drive in the 55 with my wife where we were almost asphyxiated with smoke and exhaust fumes sealed the deal. :)

That’s not a real derail ..... you’ve read my other threads. That’s nothing!

I skipped my ritual of heading into the big city for the gym and supplies to get going on the Noico in the fenders.

The rear window was so fast and good that I almost did not want to open it up but I went ahead and peeked.

Well it’s a good thing I did. The entire motor mechanism was held on with 2 loose bolts. The other two were not even resting inside the tailgate. Goners.

Also, this really nice heat shield that was on the floor was shoved into the tailgate and it had all fallen to the bottom and blocked the drain holes.

Finally, the pins that hold the window channel into the roller channel was broken on both sides and any repeat use would have torn it away soon.

I tacked the two together where the pins were missing. If it ever has to come apart it will just take a little grind.

Got it buttoned up and I’m moving on. That was a 3 hour detour

This side is done. The bottom of the cavity has been rust converted and fluid filmed to stop anything that started down there I can’t see

Before I fill the pinholes here I wanted to try the ball trick to push this big dent out.

I got 60% of it out before something in there popped my ball.

Thank you for making the right choice. 2F induced Asphyxiation is a cause of death that I will not inevitably regret posthumously.

Alright. That’s a wrap. I’m very pleased with how this all turned out.

I got the pinholes in the driver fender filled with JB weld. Dumped 1/4 can of rust converter in there. Filled it with Noico and then hosed it with Fluid Film.

Anyone still making cargo mats? If not I’ll make one out of rubber horse mat like I did in Patina. That stuff is legit and kills the sound and heat.

Also, we need two little plastic vents

This was the easy sector I’m afraid. I believe the rust demons are going to be more evident as I move forward but I’m not skeered.....

I've never seen the football trick, I have a project that might be helpful on, Cheers.

Obviously you have to have a cavity for both sides of the ball to push against but between the two balls I used I got 75% of that dent out. I’m hoping the door dent will come out too. I’ll try tomorrow.

May need a couple fender patches if you are making any.

The football took out about 80% of the driver rear door dent.

This was a lovely find but not as lovely as two more doors full of fiberglass insulation and mouse bodies.

I kinda knew the fun was going to start as I inched my way forward.

In the beloved words of my good friend and advisor Georg aka @orangefj45 ......

“Pigs are all ****ed”

Good news though.....center section of the floor is all solid under that rust.

Not terrible. Mike’s brother had already sourced a driver floor pan from the main man of pigs @bobm

Seat bracket floor is area is solid. Body mount brackets are solid. I just went through this on my Pig and I know how to fix all this stuff.

Now to dig out the last of the fiberglass in the front doors.......

Would it be okay to use the top image in the reworked T Shirt design I am working on?
