Geez... I asked about the 55 springs for SOA weeks ago. Sigh.

Don’t fret. I have mine here too plus two sets on the parts pigs. If you want that crap all good.

Who the hell still does spring overs anymore anyway?

Texans. Plus, how else will I fit 37s on my 40?

But fine, give all my parts away. See if I care <kicks dirt>

@SHavis I'll bring you back a set next time I make a trip to MS. I can fit everything in my clown car

Don’t? That’s a great start with Toyota axles and a V8....

Gotcha, didn't know if you were planning any pig parties with it, I think that last SSS we all dragged bottom.

After living in Saudi it’s nothing but pintles in the factory location for me. Has worked great on my 80. Haven’t tried the one on my 75 but it looks more than capable. Not sure I’ll ever tow with the 55 but I have a factory pintle from Saudi that’s going on it.

Yeah I towed with mine today......I hate the noise they make but it’s a tight package.

To be perfectly accurate, the 80 has a Holland ball pintle. My point is the factory tow point is used worldwide except for the US and I have a hard time understanding our infatuation with aftermarket receiver hitches. Clearly our regulations are at least partially responsible.

Or the fact that every trailer sold in the US has a trailer ball hitch.....

Yes but most countries people don’t have access to 34’ bumper pull campers

Back on the underside so I can move this guy out of the lift shop and practice the 60 Power Steering swap on my personal 55 since it’s my first.

The underside has been scrubbed and gotten an initial paint. I’m going to spray some Lizard Skin and then once that cures I’ll oil it up with some Fluid Film before it leaves so we can creep that protection into all the cracks paint and Skin won’t reach.

I had one body mount left to clean out. This is truly amazing that this trap is built into the truck. That’s at least 3# of MN/MT/ND

I found a functioning spare tire winch.
What was weird is that there was no room to put the bolts into the top of the crossmember to attach it. It’s like the fuel tank has swallowed up that space over the years.

Instead of having the 4 bolt heads rub on the tank I put some 1/2” spacers in to have a gap. One more item off the list.

I had two rocker holes that I made patches for. Pulled all the plugs and filled the cavities with fluid film with this 360* sprayer then capped them back up.

Also I made a brace for the passenger side seat tower where the thin metal had broken through.

clicking through my to do list until more parts arrive.....

No Cowboy in any pics today. Did she end up going with the trailer?

Final push to get this guy into the other shop today is getting the Lizard Skin applied to the underside

Sound dead first and then a layer of ceramic tonight once this cures.

What a beautiful sight. Clean and ready for the rebuild as parts come in. The foot wells forward are getting Lizard Skin and the pretty white stays white and uncoated.
