Very impressive stuff Dave. Excellent design and execution, I love them! Planning on some HDepot carpet on top, thin rubber lining maybe for the drawers. Not too sure yet, want to use them a bit first. Evaluating handle options too.

Thanks again for these. A couple of quick pics below. Last one is dusty, should have taken the picture after the wipe-down.

Did you paint em?

What did you use for LED lights? They just battery?
Yep. Battery, motion sensing. They do hang down about a 0.5 inch so they may interfere with anything that is tall in your drawers. Just FYI.

What's that finish? Looks very nice and need to redo mine... (Grey plastidip super dust magnet)

Hey sorry just noticed this question. I tried sealing and staining but couldn't get the finish I wanted. Sanded them back down and then rattle canned 2 coats Rustoleum Professional Primer then 3 coats of Valspar Velvet Brown (matte). I like the look, not too shiny and not too much glare but I'm putting Home Depot carpet on it anyway. Going to give some marine snaps a try, don't really want to commit to glue!

Thanks again Dave!

My drawers have been in for about 9-10 months now and they have been perfect.

After I sprayed the drawers and tops with UPol liner I noticed some creaks, and rub noises coming from the top deck- where the pcs butt up to each other. I'm a little OCD so for most this may be a non issue. The UPol hardens to a pretty tough polymer surface and when joining pcs rub on each other I was noticing noise over bumps, transitions etc. It's not a design issue, just an effect of the type of coating I used. Carpeting for example would dampen any noises all together.

As an experiment, I removed the top deck and lined the edges of mating surfaces, and tops of the wing supports with a felt tape (used for wrapping wiring harnesses) I then screwed the top deck back together and have been driving for a couple of weeks listening for creaks or rubs.

The end result has been better than expected. The felt tape created enough cushion with out creating any fit issues and the whole system is quiet - my OCD satisfied.

Got my kit...psyched to build it out! Thanks LSO!

Got mine as well! Speedy shipping and great packing. Now to find some carpet...

@abuck99 - thanks for sharing the solution to UPol creaks - all things considered would you recommend the UPol to others?

Glad they arrived okay and looking forward to seeing how you customize them, please post pics!

Got a lot done...only hiccup was the nails...might need to change supplier on those as a few we're already bent just a wee bit at the head, making them bend very easily when driven. Easy to sub and no big deal but given the incredible quality of the rest of the hardware and kit, I thought you'd want to know.

Other than that, I probably stopped five times to marvel at both the thought and engineering that went into these. Pretty damned impressive.

I have one question:. What's a button screw? They are referenced for holding the angle bracket to the ends of the aluminum tracks but not in the parts list. Is it the clear plastic button?

Thanks.

Depends on how they'll be used. Its waterproof & very durable. The surface dries to a granite like hardness, but a down side if you don't add grit(non-skid) to the mix, things can slide around and the joining edges can make some noise- hence my OCD fix. The upside is that it holds up to a lot of abuse so if your dragging coolers, LP tank, tools, recovery gear over the surface it will stay looking nice, and is easy to clean.

LOL, marveling 5 times? Wow, thank you, glad you like them ;) And thanks for the feedback on the nails - those are already the 2nd supplier but maybe they changed spec and my kids didn't notice (they bag the bits), I'll look into it.

Button screw should've said pan screw, me typing my mental slang into the instructions there and I must've missed that one- sorry. It is the "SS" screw, the 1/4-20 x 3/8"

Thought I'd ask before I have to change anything, but my drawers take a bit of effort to open and close. Don't know if they have to settle in or something is off? They slid just fine in the garage before the top was on but now they're tighter.

But besides that, I can't be the only person who was seriously impressed with how everything was packaged.... everything has been well thought out... Thanks dave!

I figured out that if the top is too tight, the plastic piece in the back corners of the drawers rubs against the top. Anyone else run into that problem? Can I just take off the plastic piece to alleviate?

To answer my own question, yes you can, and they work muuuuuch better without them.... Still wondering though?

Better if you leave that on... there's actually quite a bit of design & research that went into that bugger!

As the drawers go full extension (which means at the stopper screw you installed!) if they are really loaded they will want to cantilever down. That button is then what presses up and tracks against the top, keeping everything sliding nicely as it is also UHMW. This is a place where 1/32" can be noticed, and I'll bet they didn't fully seat in the aluminum as you assembled. I would put them back in and use a hammer to ensure they are fully seated. No gap between them and the aluminum. If they are that far in and still rubbing too much, sand off the top of them a titch at a time, testing as you go, until they are not dragging.

I haven't heard of this happening before so unfortunately have no other tricks or tips for you, if the above doesn't work please email me and we'll hunt down what else might be going on and work out a solution.

I'll admit to being a little too excited the first time I put mine together and had a similar issue as @Rolocado. Make sure the 2 aluminum braces in the back corners of the drawers are oriented right way up according to the directions. The UHMW button will only insert properly in one of the ends. If you try to mash the button in the wrong end it won't seat properly and the drawers may stick. No issues with mine once I figured that out and re-assembled correctly.
