Handles came in! Now just Patiently just waiting for the drawers to come in...

Have you driven around with anything on top of the carpet yet?
I am looking at covering mine to help prevent gear/bags/groceries from sliding around; leaning towards the rubber matting for the friction.
Not yet- haven't finished carpeting the drawers so have not installed. Planning on using a cargo net though to prevent stuff from sliding/ shifting though.

I bought a couple of closeout black yoga mats and cut to fit. They work great for $10. My Lab has a nice soft grippy surface now when she rides back there-

Stuff still slides with the carpet. Its annoying. Its better than the plastic liner I had pre-drawers but stuff still slides.

I keep waiting for someone to try astroturf...

Come on people!

I'm long overdue for a review on these drawers, but here's how my setup turned out:

These are awesome drawers. I'm going to do a carpet liner on the bottom with the leftover material I have.
Carpet: Amazon.com: 15 feet x 4 feet Wide Polymat Charcoal / Dark Grey Speaker Box Carpet Rv Truck Car Trunk and Interior Liner, Dj Cabinet Carpet: Automotive
Handles: Amazon.com: Reliable Hardware Company RH-0532F-A Spring Loaded Surface Mount Handle with Rubber Grip, Zinc: Home Improvement
Spray Adhesive: Amazon.com : 3M(TM) Super 77 Multipurpose Adhesive Spray, 10.7 Ounces (7716) : Office Products

Misc: Black stain, stainless #9 wood screws, and some good staples for the bottom edges. That being said, you don't need many staples at all if you do carpet. The spray adhesive is absolutely strong enough to bond the carpet and hold it down. I only used some to keep it stretched tight on the edges the drawers slide against. These are probably my single favorite purchase for the LC so far. They hold a ton of stuff, are really well thought out, and were pretty easy to put together overall. I did end up cutting down the included anchor u-bolts since they kept hitting the bottom drawer, but that took all of 15 seconds to do. That's it! These are awesome and thanks again for making them!

@SurfSwitch - great install! Love the carpet look, real happy it turned out so well for you!

With respect to the u-bolts nicking the drawers - that's something I've heard of a couple times now (and it happened to me when I put 900 lbs of drawer material on mine) so I've added small notches to the bottom of the drawer backs. The U-bolts should have plennnnty of room now. That's the benefit of a great community: feedback-iterate-improve ;)

Did you spray the super 77 when you were in the car? I've used that before and any spray that ends up other places makes everything super sticky and a PITA to deal with. I'm curious how it went if you sprayed it in the car. Let me know!

Not a customer (not in the market), just throwing out a "well done!" for these. Great execution, nice to see another example of someone's ingenuity and hard work benefitting the group at large. Nice thread to read with a cup of coffee on a fine Saturday morning....

Handles and latches both sourced from Allegis. Handles are a solid chunk of die cast metal. Very hefty. Feels like the handle on a refrigerator door. Not entirely sure yet which orientation I'll go with!

I did them outside the car. I fully assembled them and installed them to check for fit, then pulled the tops and drawer faces to cover those. I was glad I did too because that spray adhesive stinks! Mix that with the black would stain and it would not have been fun to be stuck in the Cruiser with that smell.

Done! Finished lining the bottom of the drawers with carpet and installed motion activated LED lighting. Took a lot more 3M 90 than I thought- 2.5 cans total. Also 10ft of carpet turned out to be the right amount. Have a little left over but not much. Really happy with how they came out and can't wait to actually install them.

The LEDs are mounted with magnetic 3M tape so you can easily remove to recharge. They last 3 months on one charge and emit a very warm light unlike most LEDS- I will post the Amazon link.
