Looks awesome. JP is getting old man fat.

I was thinking the same thing, working on cruiser isn't cardiovascular.

Nor is drinking beer while working on the cruiser.......... I blame the desk job

and :flipoff2: to both of you, didn't your mommy tell you if you don't having anything nice to say stay the hell out of my thread :hillbilly:

what kind of brakes you got/parts do you need?

I've got a dual circuit LC mc and cnc made adapter to bolt it on early 40 that i'll be selling soon.

I've also got a ton of good working front drum brakes/oem single master that i'll be selling off when i do my disk axle swap.

I appreciate the offer Dohc, but I already bought all new wheel cyl. and shoes all the way round and have a new master.

But i'd be interested in the drum brake set-up when you pull it since it has the early 9mm fitting that all my stuff uses that I'd like for spares

That 45 looks amazing, I suspect will look even more amazing once you get done.

i still have not seen a 45 in person...i'm still doubtful of existance.

Josh, thats what we thought about your 40 for a while.

Jp, looks good. I like the color choice. I want to get a 40 now. Might have to put the 62 up for sale to make it happen. Cant wait to see your finished product.

Just means he has the cruiser bug bad. ;) I feel ya John if I could DD a 40 or 45 I would have already done it. :bounce:

Keep up the good work JP, just remember John lee and myself have first dibs when it's finished.

anyone can DD a 40 if you dont mind losing AC

but the SBC does seem to handle hwy rpms better than the F engine did. It's kinda fun being able to outrun ricers from light to light in a 40 when i really want to.

If it was not for the issues of fitting in my garage i would have already lost hope in an OD auto tranny and put in my sm465 and 35" tires

I could cruise 70 at less than 3000 rpms!!! or right at it

JP, I LOVE it! Keep updating the build thread, I am enjoying seeing this thing transform!

Thanks Heather:beer:

Did some work this weekend, but not near as much as I had planned. I was signed up for a full contact flag football league by a friend and our first game was saturday morning. I quickly found out that I am old and can't hang with 18-22 year olds anymore...... spent most of the weekend icing down my broken body and drinking beer to cut the pain :o But Sunday afternoon I did muster the energy to install all new wheel cycls and brakes all round. Threw on some new to the truck 33x 9.50 TSL's with freshly painted rims and have some sweet repo'd period correct "acorn" hubcaps to compliment the new meats . Also just about finished up my dual carb. set-up all that is left is to fab. up the linkage tonight and I should be rolling.

I'll get some pics up tonight or tomorrow

You need to man up, I played 7 games of ultimate against college punks this weekend and didn't need a single beer for anything but enjoyment.

That cruiser is awesome though, can't wait to see the final results.

.

Last time I checked there was a difference between football and frisbee :flipoff2:

progress......

First up I replace the two spots in the frame that had a little rot with some scrap 1/8" steel I had laying around. I think my patches came out pretty good considering all I had was my my angle grinder and a cut-off wheel.....

Let me just say I am not very proud of how the welds turned out, but I couldn't get a good angle to weld them unless I laid on my back and there was now way I was doing that in shorts and a t-shirt. So they aren't pretty but they will do the job

paint

Since it was a balmy 80* today I figured it was a great time to do some painting, and that is what I spent the remainder of the evening doing. Got the majority of the exterior body done. All that is left is the hood and windshield and then all the interior bits. Should finish up the exterior stuff tonight......

I have to say I am rather pleased thus far with this whole rattle can approach, I feel the satin finish almost gives it that vintage patina look

new shiney emblems to compliment the paint
