Ever been flooded out of a ground tent during a deluge? That’s a huge buzz kill and the main reason I even considered a RTT. That being said, I agree that the RTT is a pita.

I can not say that I would want to be 7 feet in the air in said deluge either. :)

I plan on mounting mine on a trailer in the next week or so. Definitely a pita to deal with on top of the truck. Directions suck as well as far as I am concerned. I have the zipper for the cover in the grooves of the base but could not get it to zip up due to mis alignment. Guess I will be dealing with that in the morning. Mine has already been wet at the skirt that goes around the base. Glad I have a replacement shell but would like to use the current 1 as well. I have no garage....

I don't know what you guys are talking about, mine is no problem, and rather convenient.

How many did you buy, wheeler-dealer-man? You are the smart one of the group and always have more than one.

Eric’s is a small hard shell tent that pops in about 2 minutes. He is rubbing salt in our wounds.

It's also a James Baroud which START at $3300...... At that price it should be approximately 6x as easy to open :)

Not a JB but a nice one for Sure. The pattern satin ceiling is a nice touch too. Lincoln always sells stuff at the wrong time for me lol.

Still waiting on a used small maggiolina to pop up :rimshot:

Has anyone slept in their RTT yet? I thought about using it for my trip to Iowa tomorrow, but not sure I want to take the MPG hit for a 2500 mile trip.

Mine is still in the box, but once we get back I am going to get it out and camp in Pisgah.

couple times, driving a landcruiser anywhere is a mpg hit. It's quite comfortable, to me its not worth the effort to take it on and off the truck. Mine will probably stay on the truck for the rest of the summer at least. One upside is that my kids have a portable tree fort.

Anyone else having the problem of their ladder being too short? @sleepycruiser do you have any contact info so I could try and order a ladder extension?

Lol

Better ask if they have a thinner cover too haha

Unfortunately he said that once we bought the tents he had someone buying the rest of the accessories. They have cut off their emails and phones at Mombasa.

My ladder won’t reach the ground. I use a block of wood or a rock. I’m at the beach now, I just dug holes for the back tires. It leveled the truck and let the ladder touch the ground. I don’t think it would be hard to make an extension if they don’t have anymore.
