Hi I have a 2009 camry that I was trying to program keys for. I believe i tripped the immobilizer. After running the smart code reset I went to program the used key i had. It would not program for some reason.
1. I have the master key fob and hard key
2. The light in the dash is flashing red
3. When I push the start button, I have no power. I had power on a few minutes ago and it is a new battery.
How can i restore power? I dont have power so i cant get techstream to connect to restart the process.
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know if this can be diagnosed with TS?

This is on my '12 460

I'm not sure what all years & models support this but if you need to know why your factory alarm went off, as well as logs for all door locks and window operations go here:

System Select -> Main Body -> Select UTILITY -> Operation History

Got the virtual box running and have Techstream installed on it. For some reason on the Engine and ECT ECU it get a fatal error in TS whenever I try to get the live data. I can get the data on the rest of the ECUs without problem. This is odd as I have an old dell set up with the same TS version and it works just fine. Is there a configuration I am missing.

Anyone have any idea?

miranthis: on my 460 I need a cable that says it has firmware 2.0.4 and K-Line support to get that live data

1.4 cables always gave me those errors… 2.0.4 cables are sometimes twice the price

I got it done with my 1.4 cable on my old Dell machine back in 2017 and it works fine. do you need to do the registry merge with the virtual box? My old machine still works with the same cable, but battery life is getting short so I need to get the TS transitioned over to the new laptop. Just can't get it to work on the new machine.

What vehicle and year are you connecting to?

I’ve never moved this Virtual Box or local install install from one box to the next. I just reuse the old VM download… that being said I‘ve kept an old 2017 Techstream install going on an old HP laptop as well. I primarily use that one over the VirtualBox install.

I have been looking for a V2.0 cable but cannot find one. I do not care if it cost twice what I paid for my V1.4 cable.

Is there any value in tech stream for a 1998 LC? Or is this mostly for the AHC folks? On a 98 other than engine temp and transmission temps, what usable functions would I gain?

Here's what I found. MINI-VCI V2.0.4 j2534 for $30. Should be good. if its not 2.0.4 then raise a red flag and aliexpress should refund the money. But for the money I am sure it will be 2.0.4 version cable. No company wants the sell a wrong cable and lose money on it.

Is it wiser when ordering from China to buy the more expensive cable or is it a toss-up of what you will get no matter what you pay? I normally follow the "you get what you pay for" motto- but I have no idea about Ali-Express.

@MarkTR You can pay double...but I have had good experience from Aliexpress and they are reliable. If you do not get the 2.0.4 version cable you can raise a case and you will get your money back. The only thing about Aliexpress is the shipment time.

I paid double- but this is my first time with Ali-express so $30 is a drop in the bucket compared to the other bits I have to buy for my 740. I have a feeling new globes may be in my future.

BTW through Techstream I was able to program my new to me 2007 Toyota Tundra Master keys. It was easy with Techsteam instead of doing all the - close the door 5 times then hold your nose 2 time etc.
