Looks good man! Can't wait to see it.

No need to do either. See if you can re-shoot the hood and paint the roof off white.

I know nothing about NASCAR! Except for the jokes about crazy rednecks driving about 180 mph only making left turns. Them crazy f's! Congrats on the Cruiser!

Tires look good. Can't wait to see the OME on there.

Interesting: why tires before lift? Just curious...

R u off Ramblewood, or the part that's not Heatherland hills? Looks like you got more snow than me, and I'm a few hundred feet higher....

i hope the lag is small... i'll likely order the lift tomorrow. they are only 33's and fit pretty well stock height, might be able to rub them if i really try to twist it up but i'll just take it "easy" until.

i am in heatherland hills.

ah, beautiful neighborhood.

I worked on the fuelbreak around it: got more practice measuring 'chains' than I ever hope to need again.

yeah we really like it here, we bought the weem's house, the original owners of the whole neighborhood before they divided it up... green shag carpet and all :D

did you? cool! they finished that before we moved in. we've been here since late 2003.

can you get a discount for ordering 2 lifts? I need one:)

now that i don't know. i guess i wouldn't expect much of one since they are so heavy i would think you wouldn't get too much off in shipping. now just a straight discount for 2? i have no idea. but i am intrigued...

wrenching!!!! OME LIFT!!!

so i got ~3" front and rear... installed 850 springs in front (heavies) and 860 springs in the rear (mediums), also go the new nitrocharger sport shocks... basically just slee's OME kit with mix and match for springs.

less than 1/8 of a tank of gas, spare in stock location, no rear seats, minimal gear in the back.

hub center to lower edge of flare straight vertical:
DS front went from 19.5 to 22.5
PS front went from 19.5 to 22.75
DS rear went from 20" to 23.25
PS rear went from 19.75 to 23

OME springs were marked A and B side. slee says A is australian driver side so they go on our passenger side, which seem backwards following his other logic for switching coils but i followed his directions... also used slees washer setup instead of what OME said, basically but the spacer/locator washer on the shock body side of the bushing stack up, this is how the stock shocks were too (OME said the put the locator on the nut side of the stack)

it was all very painless, no stuck bolts air impact or a breaker bar couldn't get with ease. wheee... took less than 4 hours for the lift all by myself. i haven't done bushings, i figure i'll go back and tell firestone to give me the castor again before i do the bushing correction. biggest pain was the upper shock mount under the brake MC, ended up setting a box wrench on the top and using channel locks to rotate the shock... DO NOT do it if you want the shock afterwards. :D

i need a to buy a pickle fork/tie rod puller to finish up the facking steering damper... it laying half way off on the floor atm, oh yeah and a socket bigger than the 19mm i have for the lugnuts. assuming they are 21mm? i just used the oem tire kit to get it back together, i'd prefer to torque once i have a socket.

i also changed out all the lift struts (hood and rear hatch) and mounted the cb antenna and adjusted the throttle cable and the kickdown cable...

the cb antenna mount install is meh in my book so far. i have the firestik adjustable SS hood mount, firestik firefly antenna and the "mesa mega cable" doesn't kink, but its tight and it pushes the gap on my hood open which can't be good for the cable. i'm contemplating drilling a hole and grommet it on the fender (like the radio antenna) to route the cable with relief and get it out of the hood joint but it's pretty permanent that way... you guys have thoughts?

i have the CB install for tomorrow as well as the steering damper install once i go buy a tool, oh yeah and the cdl switch install.

btw my wife is awesome for letting me spend the entire day wrenching on the garage while she has the monster to deal with...

pics and such to follow but the beast is taking shape!!!

If you are looking for a pickle fork we have a pneumatic one at the house. Just stop by the house and we can knock off the old steering in less than a minute. We used it on AJ's 80, and it was awesome.
