Been a while since I've posted. But received my NOS license plate light in the mail today! Even in a weird Japanese box! I'm just drinking a beer and observing it.:rofl:

Only one of mine is rusty for some reason. I never thought I'd be able to remedy that... :)

Need someone to re-pop these too, mine is no princess but those lights are tired.

The question is if the pig community would accept CNCed stainless or aluminum housings
I think for most of the “drivers” that would do fine, need something functional, maybe not acceptable to guys going full Resto?

See, I need ‘em too!

Who can help here?

I found a chrome restoration shop that routinely rebuilds the base metal on old chrome parts. I never got a price but was reasonably convinced they could do the work. I eventually found a good pair so I didn't pursue this route any further but this was my "I'm down to this one last part that I need" plan if it ever came to that. Before & After

The problem with these chrome parts is that once they get a pinhead size compromise in the chrome, that breach allows corrosion of the base metal to commence. The part then essentially corrodes from the inside out. I plan on having all of my chrome rechromed regardless of condition.

I went down that road, too and it gets expensive real fast. Be thankful there's not much chrome on the 55.

Yes it is expensive. My 55 has the chrome grill and headlight bezels. I'm guessing that bib will not be cheap but at least it's in good condition.
