I hear you, some of us still have to maintain install emissions parts I have a new short block myself. plus a lot of us rely or have other forms of transpotation that are newer just good stuff to know. Im located in arizona phoenix. I got a deferral an also showed discontinued parts with manger statement. if a car is imported over 21 years its federal emission exempt. but here they make you go from dmv to dmv inspection til some dork says no an yes then they takes pictures of devices! a camera. i had know pair reed valvue block off plates an sandwhiched on egr they didnt notice, took me a month to source all parts. you also cant install a heavy duty rated diesel in regular truck unless rated heavy duty. ridicuols but many states such as montana dont emiision test. when i lived back east we would register are cars in va they had a seperate window sticker for emmisins an cops wouldnt know to an cant inforce a other states law. so we would go years wit out emissions inspection. in az they ride around looking for poeple an citeing them a warning entering them in sytem for out of state tags like a counter even if a return vister you have go court an show statments of out of state adrees. im leave it at that.I'm at the point where my cats are already toast and my engine is way past the point of any sort of warranty.
This response makes me want to switch. I've been using Mobil 1 10w30 or 10w40 Full Synthetic for years and I've always had a consumption issue. I was looking at Rotella but I want to stick with Mobil 1. I didn't know they made a Full Synthetic Turbo Diesel Truck formula until your post.FWIW... I have used M1 10W30 High Mileage for a couple of years now and just recently switched M1 TDT 5W40. I have had high oil consumption + oil leaks (adding about 1 qt every 400 miles or so) when using the M1 10W30 High Mileage. Since switching to M1 TDT 5W40 about 1000 miles ago, I have not added any oil (low engine oil light has not lit up, and yes, I am also checking the oil level). I have lost some oil since switching (due to consumption and leaks), but it is significantly less than when I was using M1 10W30 High Mileage.
Do you have engine noise at startup since it's a higher viscosity? and from what I have read, just disregard that it's labelled for diesel engines?Shell Rotella T4 15W-40. My oil leaks been gone since i switched.
no engine noise that i am aware of, but i also have a 3FE....Do you have engine noise at startup since it's a higher viscosity? and from what I have read, just disregard that it's labelled for diesel engines?
hmmphhhh ok i can give it a shot, which filter do you run with that oil?My 1fz just got Rotella 15w40 T4 and it is quieter overall.

edit - just ordered the factory filter from my local toyota.
You use same weight as well 15w-40?Rotella or Delo 400 (whichever is on sale) in mine for years now.

I have been putting delo 400 in my cars for some years now and these days most “diesel” engine lube oil is SN rated for gas engines too.Do you have engine noise at startup since it's a higher viscosity? and from what I have read, just disregard that it's labelled for diesel engines?
I’ve been using it the last two changes. No issues, no usage. I had hoped to have a Blackstone report to compare to the Castrol GTX 10w30 I’ve always used but USPS lost my sample. What about Mobil delvac 15w40? Any body has something to say about that one? Only ask because I run tht in my semi and it’s super cheap at Sam’s club. It’s great in my Cummins engine run it 15k no problems and I would like to try it in my 80s.
