I guess the picture Lance sent me, he didn't use a flash. Sorry :(

No - I can see it - looks like black Line-X to me. Very uniform smooth texture - well done!

All right it is 9:38 no pics yet!! Lance wake up, get on the computer!!

He is to busy putting it together so he can beat the deadline!!!

Lance,

Just know, if you run out of time an need seats, I can loan you a pail of Drywall Mud to sit on...:p

Alright kids, settle down... don't make me stop this car...

Underhood temps in the FZJ80 can get really high. I was looking for a way to isolate the battery, ARB compressor, etc... from the exhaust manifold. First I tried several small shields, then Vince walks by and says, "why don't you just build one giant baffle like a cold air intake?"

So here are pics of my VDCAK. (Vince Dooley Cold Air Kit)

See, I do hear what he says - I'm just usually not listening...

Not that you will have a lot of room in there, but you can mount a later model carb fan on a thermal switch.

the home-brew welder debacle

Just hope there is no more brackets to be made!!! :flipoff2:

x2!

Yesterday was a rough day for me. I had the reverse midas touch. It seemed like I had to do everything twice and in the end I still didn't like what I had. This bracket is goofy, but it will stay for now because I don't have time to :flipoff2: with it any more. Between trying to catch the phone and doing everything twice I spent all day on it. If I worked for me I'd be fired right now...

Cam said it best, "well bud, looks like you now have the worlds most expensive alternator bracket..."

coming soon, to a vendor near you. It's not the part that is so expensive, it will be the shipping and handling :grinpimp:

looking great!

why two alternators? Why not just get photoman's alternator bracket and get a used sequioa or tundra alternator that bolts up?

Lance,

Once this thing is running and on the road, you will have to let me know how it handles with all the rocks the guys put inside your tires. It will probably be a little better than the blue and white 55 looming in the background of Post #190. ;p

Pics should be up any minute now............

The truck looks really good all together!!!!

Ha ha! 2:40 am post from Vince... in the "pre-kid" days this would occur after a night of wrenching and beer drinking on the neighbors jeep - now I bet it's because Amy made you get up and take care of the kid!

No pics yet... have a couple more things to put together. I can't believe how fast this truck is going back together. (I guess it's no faster than any other, but when you have so many people stopping by to help and you work a 21 hour day things seem to happen quickly...)
