On the 80 width iirc my 55 needed 6”.....but that’s using 1.25” spacers on the axles.....so you could likely get away with 3-4” on a 55 body. It just depends how much you plan to lift it and if you want a little extra axle width for stability

I am using a 40 body on a 60 frame, going with 5 inches
 
Moving pedals, steering, etc over one inch towards the center, I always hated how you sat crooked. This should enable steering to be in the center

Not sure, going to have to mod that area for Dodge clutch master cylinder, and hydro assist brakes. If the brace fits in after that I will weld it in, or come up with a different plan to reinforce it
 
By the way, love the idea of shifting everything over 2 inches. Had never thought about doing that change, but it makes tons of sense.
