Looking for a steering box for my lx450. Somebody ran a redlight the other night and ended up with an lx on the hood. It twisted the sector shaft where it comes out of the box. Im still arguing with insurance as they have offered nowhere near what it is going to take to fix the truck right. They want to straighten my front bumper, bondo it, and paint it....NO.

I guess I might see him at the Roundup, but not really interested because it prevents you from covering the tub, to keep rain, leaves, etc. out of it. If somebody over here wants it, I might be able to mudship it back.

Wow! Does anybody here know the seller?

I'm all about restored land cruisers....but even if i made a few million a year...i'd never spend 20+K for a pick up truck that can't run 75-80 down the hwy comfortably.

Clean rig...but seriously...in this economy? Especially on craigslist...you could put a broken I-phone on CL and list it as free and still have someone complain about it's condition. Maybe i just dislike most of the buyers or "tire kickers" ive met on CL.

I am looking for a set of 31 or 33's. Not 100% sure about funds yet but if you see something let me know. Still rocking 15' wheels!

LOL then you probaly should stay away from 40 series and 70 series for that matter as well. If you have to drive a 40 series at 75-80mph down the highway you are missing the point

Regardless Damn nice Diesel 45 there :D

That is a nice looking truck. I'd love to have it.

For a properly built/restored vehicle, $25,900 is not a ton of money when you figure in labor, and often labor isn't even figured into the price. Heck, give Trollhole a 45 that is in nice shape, no significant rot, etc and have him restore it down to every nut and bolt and you will quickly have a big bill - but work costs money. (I am assuming that 45 is a good restoration as we can only see so much from one picture.)

Cirbo had a sweeeeet 45 at Trollhole's Parts Swap, and it was for sale. I looked at it closely, and while I was a willing buyer I couldn't pay the price because the work was done with so much detail that the price was too much for me - but I think it was worth every penny he was asking.

And it's been known to clock speeds well north of 80 mph too, although it's the 0 to 60 that puts smile on my face.

^ Surely you are not really selling it ... if you are, do I get a discount since I'd be bying my winch back? :D

BTW, that was me waving like an idiot on Saturday (in the Acura ) at Wally World on 521 ....

Dooh! I wondered who that was. Too funny.;)

I doubt it will ever go. I would never take less than I have in parts, and doubt anyone would pay that much.

Saw a 80 series on hwy 153 for sale the other day. It looked like it was spray can camo with an ARB/winch bumper and a full roof rack.

you do realize that i've been daily driving a fj40 for almost 2 years now right? Whether it's towing a 21ft sailboat on weekends or my daily commute to work...about 15 miles mix hwy and city, I use her for everything. Since i sold my last motorcycle it's been my only mode of transportation.

While i love these old rigs I simply wouldn't consider one in factory off the assembly room floor condition worth 20+grand to me.

Now say a fj45.....with a nice cummins or isuzu diesel swap, working AC, matched up to a beefy auto or OD manual transmission with say....Dana axles, doubler that will allow for not only good crawl ratio but also the ability to do 85mph on the hwy...that would be worth 20K to me. And again...it would have to be in super clean and excellent condition, like eat off the floor boards clean.

The 40 series is simply a toy...a really fun off road capable toy....I love it...but to me being that it's more toy than conventional automobile...it's only worth the price of a toy.

Then again...I can never see myself paying 20K for any vehicle...but i have been known to spend 2-5K on a vehicle then drop 3x the amount it's worth into modifications. But we all need a hobby...wasting money on vehicles is better than wasting it on heroin or crack. While id never spend 20K on a vehicle...i'd so drop 20+ grand on a really nice 35+ ft sailboat!!!!
