Trying to make a little headway finally and am getting the ol’ obstacle treatment.
Work still needs to be done ironing out the tailgate patchwork, but the big 6”/7” grinder has crapped out. To keep the ball rolling, decided to pull the front doors out of their dusty, cobweb filled resting place and get them broke down and ready for body and paint work.

Began by drilling some dowel alignment holes through the hinges into the doors to make establishing the hinge position easier.
Pulled the hinges and found a whole bunch of ugly on the lower driver side, and “par for the course” crackage on the lower passenger side.
Removal of the passenger door window revealed that the fixed steel window channel is broke in half. Imagine my delight!

Had the lower part of the fixed channel break away from its lower mount point a couple times. The last time I made double sure it wasn’t going to happen again.
The fix looks like it would be grinding the weld away from the joint where the sheetmetal of the door contacts the channel, cutting the 90° corner at the top of the window frame, and then cutting the lower mount loose.
It would come out as two pieces, but not sure how easy it would be to get reinstalled as a single piece to weld back in place if that lower mount was attached. Gonna have to sit on it for a bit.

Both have been over extended and have sheetmetal dents/creases where they folded around the front fenders.

Maybe put out an APB for some front doors?
Someone had a hoard of doors at one point…memory is not telling me who 🤷🏼‍♂️

There were three sets in Calgary 4 years ago

Perhaps @grayjs stilk has a pair.

I remember someone in MT or WY (I think) ID had 18 14.

Wrong era for you but four complete doors on fleabay.

Seller has had them for sale for a while (price on eBay is now lower than in this ad), hasn’t logged in here in forever

Nice sleuthing, this was the one hiding in the way back machine…
