OK here are the most recent batch of Photos.

#1: 3F non US (no air rail holes) w/ Aisin carb, rebuilt w/ .020 over Toyota pistons and rings, Custom slip steering shaft, mini truck brake boster, new master

#2: Front axle w/ FJ62 disks, FJ60 Power Steering, 4x4 Labs 1 ton links and ends, OME springs, all new brake lines (hard and soft)

#3: FJ40 FF w/ FJ62 e-brake cable, swaybar w/ new bushings, Alcan Springs to match ft OMEs

What master did you end up running? Is that 40 FF rear disc or drum?

I am wondering what master to run in my 3FE Pig after I put 60 discs on the front...

TIA,

80 series master, Mini truck Booster, fj62 Ft Disks w/ 4Runner calipers.

Rear is a late 40 FF w/ FJ62 rear drums w/ intigrated parking brake.

I still have to put in a prop vlv for the rear but everything works great.

weatherstrip

Mike--
it looks like the weatherstrip worked for the rear cargo windows. Did everything go as planned?

It turned out nice enough. The pass side looks a bit better than the driver but all in all I would give the "windshield gasket as cargo rubber" trick a 9/10 and even higher because you can't actualy get the correct gasket anymore.

Thanks for this - is that an early 80 master? Like 91 or 92? Pre-ABS?

What does the 80 master do to pedal feel?

Prop Vlv installed so it shouldn't lock up the rears any more. As far as the master goes Im not exactly sure what it is from because I didn't order it. But I think it is a non ABS 80 master.

Also got the PerTronix reinstalled (dont leave the ignition ON without the truck running or you will melt the coil and PerTronix) Part#1665A

OK so the truck is finnished for now. The customer picked it up and drove it back to New Orleans and is thrilled to death with the truck. Mission Acomplished....

It did turn out very clean but it was in no way easy or lowbuck. lots of custom fab work to get all of the vents to work fairly correctly.

That is a tough question. I used the 60 setup because we had a few laying around. It works well enough but the controlls on the dash are a bit odd and like I said getting it to fit right wasnt easy.

My first choice would be a factory 55 A/C setup but as im sure you know they arent easy to find. I have installed the vintage air kit in a couple of 40 and they also work well.

I know no one wants to hear this. But it rolled in Tellico this week at GSMTR.

I'm sure there will be more details to come.

Very sad

Looking foward to seeing the rebuild.

Yep, went off the edge on Trail #1. They were in the group right in front of us. Made me feel a little sick to pull up and see that truck like that.

Sounds like the owner is ready to repair / start over.
