Looks great JP. Looking forward to watching the build. Envious of your shop and availability to time.
Looks like you’ve got more projects stacked up there. LV and a 25. Nice!
Surprised it’s in the 40 section though.

Thanks Ken. Yeah I threw the build in the 40 section just to expose it to a new crowd. I know a lot of folks don't venture into the 45 section. I've still got a few projects stashed away at the barn but my hoard has been cut in about half in the past year or so. I'm down to 2 LVs, 1 45LP-B, 2-SWB, and a 40/25 mutt which I suppose isn't too bad :grinpimp:

Frame and axles....... sand blasted, epoxied, rust protection coated, then top coated with chassis black

For a trans and t-case this is far from the worst I've seen but it is still so satisfying to see
them all nice and clean.

And just because I am a Land Cruiser nerd...... I love all the obscure places Toyota found to stamp their TEQ symbol :grinpimp:

Wow. I’ve really dropped the ball on keeping this thread up to date

I’ve been plugging away steadily the last few months and should be wrapping things up by mid August with any luck. I’m into the fun part of the build now, reassembling all the clean freshly plated and painted bits.

First off I recieved all my bling back from my plater. All those monotonous hours with the blast cabinet and wire wheel are worth it when I open up the box and see this!

On my last restoration I wanted to make everything exactly as it left the factory which included have custom stock height FJ45 springs built by Alcan. This time I took a few liberties with the build which included going with an OME 2.5” lift and running Racer65s 16” stock style rims wrapped in 7.50x16 tires which equates to essentially 33” tires. I painted the springs, shocks, and shackles black to maintain that stock appearance.

On the rear bed I also tried something different this time. I decided to give the tintable Raptor liner a try this time versus the stock painted bed, which seemed much more practical and usable to me. My initial impressions of the Raptor liner are very positive it looks great and was easy to spray.

This is where I come to see what my build should look like.

Looks like your radiator survived shipping.

Awesome! I love all the attention to detail! Those plated parts... drooool.
Where did you order your brake parts kit from? I need to do redo the brakes in my 64/65 Fj40.
Thanks!
