Now, onto the arms. Some bad news on these that I discovered while chatting with Cdan.

87902-90301: RH MIRROR ARM: 8/1976-EOP. Does not come with gasket, though those are available still and the same side-to-side: 87911-90300.

Here is the RH unit. It is nice.

The bad news: LH side mirror arm: 87905-90301 is officially discontinued.

Here are the other mirror arms: 87902-60050 (RH) and 87905-60020 (LH). 3/1969-8/1976.

Again, like the others above, the LH side is discontinued. RH is still available.

Why Toyota does this, I do not know. Not sure anyone knows, but I assume it has something to do with plain, old supply and demand and the logistics of storing parts waiting for that one person who wants one.

Ah, those are pretty cool.

What I was talking about was a convex version of the plastic snap-on version for the '78 door brackets. You don't list a part number for those? The one I had was sent to me by CCOT, so it's possible it was a repro, but it was _very_ close to the original other than the convex glass.

I do not list one sir. I assume it was repro/aftermarket. Or, possibly, non-US application.

It looks like they have rounded corners and the back looks different that the rectangular mirror with ribs stamped into it but how does the size compare? If your could over look the differences these would make a nice setup on the 40 series. Better still would be if Toyota had one like this with flat glass. I would be all over those. As for arms I believe it was the Haynes manual that had the picture of a FJ45 with some nice arms that weren't straight or adjustable that looked really nice.

Just looked it is in the Haynes manual. A pillar mounted with looks like one bend with the rounded edge mirror, UK spec. Believe one was pictured in a old SOR manual (91?) with a helicopter with the same mirrors. By the picture I believe it was in Europe somewhere. Would have to see if they are still available than find a connection, Doctor do Little/A. Greenspan?:hmm:

87901-60011, should be correct for mid 60's US spec FJ45LPB, maybe others(but think non removable top short bed got round). Also used on latter non US stuff. I like this mirror head the best.

I use that mirror head on my 64 FJ45LV OEM fender mirrors

Would this be correct mirror for a 1962 FJ40?

Looks like body color too. Thanks JP !

Glad to help:beer: The mirror was def body color as was basically anything else on a 1962 FJ40, they only used the pewter color on the front bumper.

So, what arms are currently available in both LH & RH?

Cheers, Allen

The convex mirror was used here in Japan and I have a newer one on my truck. On the right is ac convex with a different finish layer over the steel. I'm not sure of the years for these but I believe them to be OEM as well. Living- are these the arms you're talking about?

If I knew the part number I could check but I'm not sure what years they were used.

Hi Pete, yes those are the arms I was talking about. They aren't still available in Japan by any chance ?

This is the part # I found on ToyoDIY.com 87902-90301 (RH), 87905-90301 (LH). I pulled them from a Japan spec 1978 BJ43

A quick part number search shows them both as still available here in the US

I think those arms are pre 78. 78 here would probably have the door mounted mirror arms as posted above as my 79 bj43 did.

I think this is the correct fender mount mirror head for the LV, it came off my 64LV(which is a 64 frame with a 65 build body, it stamped 65 on VIN plate along with brass 65 tag)

mirror is flat

the mirror looks in decent shape, but inside a bunch of stuff(rust I guess) rattles around, as well as white spots under the glass(. So I replaced it with the 87901-60011..which looks great and darn close. But it looks like the 7=87901-55011 would be a closer match

87901-60011 on the 64 FJ45LV, also sporting some FJ55 mirror(I guess they are worth their weight in gold now, glad I saved a few sets NIB)

The US LV's had a slightly different mirror. While similar to the 87901-60011 mirror Beno posted they where a little more rounded in shape and lacked the structural ribbing on the backside. Also the LVs here only came with a fender mounted mirror from 63-64. To make it even more complicated the 1963 version used the round mirror found on same vintage 40s.
