FJ25 steering wheel question.

My U.S. Fj25’s all have a spline shaft columns. I have seen early steering wheels from different markets like Australia that have a keyway column. Is the U.S. the only market to get the spline shaft steering column?

Well… had acorns, little PSA here, never loan the @HENDOG your acorns hubcaps. He texted me this morning to let me know he put a minor dent in one of them

Can't blame him completely. Looks like it was thin from rust already.

I picked a set of early hub caps cheap.

Did a little work to them.

This was a long time ago when I still had a job.
Not real easy to pick out without a close inspection.

While not as cheap as some here my best deal is a toss up between my $1k 73 FJ40 FST and $2,500 76 FJ40 full time 4WD proto type with 4500 miles.


Anyone know what happened to Phil? Believe the last time I had contact was 2013.

See! We are all still lurking here, just waiting for something to talk about I still think Mud is by far the best source of knowledge for the older cruisers. I can’t get myself into social media, it all just feels so impersonal to me. It’s possible I’m wrong. I really do like and appreciate this mud community though. Build Thread 'Project Old Fart 1960 FJ25 softop'

Everything is dissasembled now, the (temporary) sprung over frame has been pushed outside and has had a bath, It's amazing how good the 46 year old cream colored paint has held up. About 10 lbs. of mud and rocks are now removed from inside the frame channels. I'm doing the metal fabwork on the tub before it gets media blasted. 165 holes needed to be welded up or patched. So far about 100 are done. The large parts to fix are the 3 gauge holes in the dash, the radio cutout in the dash, the 5" dia. holes in the rear from resessed tail and stop lights, and the normal cruiser rust in the back...

Thanks for asking. It’s going on 20 years of the build, you would have thought building a rare Toyota Land Cruiser would be my main focus all this time, but it has not been a priority. It is still all wrapped up from having to evacuate the property due to a wildfire.
It’s still aging like good Scotch.
