Ive had a cable push/ pull heater valve from an fj60 and finally got around to replacing the original valve which required opening the hood and then opening the heater valve, so today I did a bit of necessary plumbing.

After numerous adjustments and trials, I was able to somewhat figure out how this works.

Thanks! Good thing I took the pics of the early pieces as the zinc bath gets out of sync easily. Home brew zincing is not easy. I think its best to spend 100 and get the caswell zinc solution. Otherwise its nearly impossible to get shinny yellow finish on the chromate. But Ive got budget concerns so I'll have to revisit this part of the "project" at a later time.
