Where are you getting this information from? I had a chat with the VP of public relations for REI about 15 years ago regarding this when a member of the Yankee Toys started to threaten the GCLC, and it was a false rumor.

I saw a ton of Coleman stuff at an Ollie's in NC this week, too. It was also featured in their email flyer so it's likely to be everywhere. Sleeping bags, grills, came stoves, tents, lanterns, etc. Perfect stuff for the occasional camper or a second set of gear for families or back up.
